Good to see the i7 pricing getting sensible. I want to replace my 'main' PC as it's the only one left in the house that's pre-Core (i.e. a good ol' P4), but I don't want to pile more debt on the card, so not yet.

So how exactly does this guaranteed overclock work when its not a full system? :confused:

Just bios settings being saved to the mobo or something?
 
I gather in the past it's been done by customising the BIOS preset defaults. Don't know if that's the case this time.

In any event, if overclocking is your thing then you may consider the guaranteed overclock worth having. Full system or not, if OcUK are prepared to guarantee that the components in combination will overclock to the stated settings, then if they don't you have legitimate grounds to send them back. The same can't be said if you buy the components seperately.
 
i gathered a full new system based on this bundle and the perfect rig with monitor/mouse/keyboard/speaker cost £1300!!

The overclock is preset into the Bios profile system, + a guide to set the clock should you update the bios and lose the settings.
