ps3, what's included

It sort of is depending how you look at it, Sony should be able to mass produce them for about 10p each, so why not throw one into the box?

You have misunderstood me. That is what I am saying!! I was disagreeing with the person saying people shouldn't complain as it is only £3. As it's low cost is a greater reason to include one in the box.

Yea but even at 10p, 10x20 million = a lot of pence.

There is always going to be things 'missing' from console packages, like the PS3 doesnt even come with a headset so thats something else youre probably going to want and theyre a lot more money. The 360 youll need to buy batteries or plug n charge kits at some point & youll have to pay to play online etc, etc, etc. Its just one of those things.

The 360 doesn't come with a headset either.

I've no idea why the 360 keeps being referenced. The standard 360 and Elite both come with headsets and HD cables. The Elite also sees a hdmi cable thrown in.

Whatever way you look at it the PS3 should come with a hdmi cable, as should their stand alone blu-ray players but they don't though I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

But why should it come with a HDMI cable anymore than say a 360 should come with a plug n play charge kit or wifi? Easily both just as essential.

No it's not.

A 360 comes with a pack of AA batteries and I've never bought a plug n play charge kit as I've always had a plentiful supply of AA rechargeable's.
Also you can play a game without being connected online and they DO come with an ethernet cable.

The PS3 is a HD console and Blu-Ray player. It SHOULD come with a HD cable and not just a composite one.

Stop being so defensive. A pro 360 should come with a HDMI cable as well as the component one and my BDP-350 should have come with one too. The fact the PS3 doesn't come with any HD cable is shocking but I suppose in line with other electronic equipment.

?

Im just saying that what ever console you buy there is always going to be things not included that you need. Like for me wifi and plug n play charge kits on the 360! These are just as essential to me, but some reason youre not accepting that, I wonder why. Ive already said the PS3 should include a HDMI above but obviously Sony havent realised that it aint 2006 anymore where by back then probably most people were using composite.

Just buy a cheap HDMI cable, no need to spend more than a couple of quid on one. I have £40 HDMI cable which I bought in 2006 and a £3 HDMI cable which I bought a few months ago, both do the same exact thing!
I would steer clear of the really cheap ones tbh as I have had problems with them due to poor build quality. I understand it's just a digital signal so you don't get interference etc, but I had one where it would completely lose signal unless I unplugged it and then plugged it back in. £7-£10 should be fine I would definately not spend more than about £15 on one though.

It did at least come with a cable capable of carrying a high definition image, though admittedly it didn't even come with HDMI until the Elite which does come with an HDMI cable.

My 360 didnt come with a cable capable of carrying a high definition image.
I had to go and buy a third party cable capable of carrying a high definition image as microsoft ones where not available to buy separately.

Mine cost about a fiver.

Not sure of the quality of the cheaper ones but mine has been excellent.

there is no difference in the £3 or £39 cables as the signal is digital, its either gets sent or not, obviously there could be better build quality involved but i dont think you could go through 10 cheap cables for 1 expensive one

Oh, and Street Fighter 4 owns Soul Calibur.

Yes but It's also coming for pc and I don't touch any games on console if they come out on pc...
Besides sf4 requires skill, skill I don't have, I like button bashing.

sorry, I never believed that rubbish, imo a cable costing 2p is just as capable as one for 50 quid. Nobody can convince me to spend more than 1 € on a short cable which will carry digital data, regardless what cable it is.

Anyways thanks, I'll tell my parents they must add an optical and hdmi cable with it and not spend more than a fiver on both.

rubbish, you don't buy dvd players expecting a scart lead to be included, why should it be any different with a console or any other kind of player

As stated I'm well aware of this.

Once upon a time electronic equipment didn't come with plugs or batteries; that wasn't right either.

Errrr, that's not the issue, I just want things to work out of the box. PC mainboards come with all cables required, a monitor comes with a vga and dvi cable like it should, a psu comes with a power cable... Now I have to waste time ordering 2 cables after I get the ps3... I won't prolly spend even 3 quid on a hdmi cable but get a used one from a pc fair from 1 euro or something,

Err yes they do, my mums canon printer came with a usb cable and my dads hp print/fax/copy/scan thing also...

OT: My printer never came with a cable

I had to go back up town to get an HDMI cable for my PS3, got it from a high street retailer, bit of a pain, you'd think they would include them with it tbh.
