So the BMW was costing a bit of money and leaking/using a bit of oil as a few of you know so I've been looking for a new motor for a few weeks now. Also wanted something a bit more "fun" I am no longer doing mega miles so don't require a motorway hauler

Well finally last night I found the one I'd wanted, and after a look at the car and a thorough test drive. I decided to give it a go..

I present...

Renault Clio Sport 172
Fully loaded with :

Xenons
Rain sensing wipers
CD multichanger
Climate/AC
90k FSH

You can even see the extent of the BMW oil leak from the left over on my drive which I need to clean off as I'll be getting an earful

It is a lot more fun than the BMW obviously and loving the feel of the car at the moment, been out most of today to get more of a feel for the car and it really is a bucket load of fun, it handles like a little go kart and has endless amounts of acceleration. It's averaged 37MPG over today with mixed driving (did the Whitby roads) which is a quite an improvement.

:)

Maybe because this car has the potential for fail too? thus costing him cash aswell.

As do most cars it's motoring for you. I'm glad I did it now made me realise how utterly boring the BMW was even though they are very good cars.

Dont get me wrong I nearly bought one a few years back and would have one tomorrow as they offer great value for money and are heaps of fun too. Had a renault 19 16v when I was in my teens too and nothing went wrong with that

It's suprising how effective a weekend of sound deadening and creak hunting can be - simple things like putting smooth black tape on joins where plastic meets plastic, adding a little foam padding, velcro and so on make an awful lot of difference.

Just doing stuff up and making sure it's clipped in always helps too :D

My Fiesta rattles and squeaks, it drives me up the wall. I might spend an afternoon taking all the trim off and putting it back together properly as some clot has messed about with it in the past.

Yea I think im pretty used to it now, the seats are a lot nicer than the BMW and it's pretty bloody insane at 166BHP/Tonne it's a fair bit nippier than the 320i

It also has a CDA induction which sounds bloody good.

Because his last car was a boring slow BMW.

Enjoy owning a drivers car, Tom.

Cheers mate, hopefully up for a meet in yorkshire soon.

Looking good.. I did wonder why you asked me that insurance question the other month on MSN :)
