So it has been 13 weeks since I started work & I had my review last night, The result of which is I received my contract, they took me on, I am now a Permanent employee
I was moved onto the Produce section a month or so ago which I do alone, All the Fruit & Veg which is Kin heavy work but much better than the fiddly crap I did before. Apparently i have made the section my own & have a good eye for detail.
What with my Allotment & my Produce section I am the Fruit & Veg man :p
So whilst everybody around me is losing there job I have got myself taken on Permanently, Go me.

See, even an old diddicoy can do good !! ;)

On a serious note. Well done there malc30, I hope all goes well.

i presume this is Tesco's, same happened to me and you will still get 3 montly contracts for 1st year. When asking line manager why was i getting these he said not to worry i'm permanent. Don't believe all the bull that Tesco's spout.

I signed the contract & it just says Permanent & my hours, In the temp bit it says N/A as in not applicable ;)
I'm in, They have to drag me out the place kicking & screaming now :D

Congrats

I have just got a part time job, went for a trail on Friday and went to see them today and going in on Friday and Sunday, just glad to have something been out of work since October after being made redundant and applied for loads of jobs and got no luck, its min wage and evening work but its only a 5 min walk from my house so :D

Congrats, I remember the satisfaction of securing a permanent part-time retail job. Enjoy! :)

Well done malc30!!! That's great news with the way things are.

I got turned down by McDonald's.

Now been signed over to a "training" scheme, i.e the governments way of saying "hey this guys long term unemployed, lets get him off the unemployed list and give him "training" so he doesn't ruin our already fiddled unemployment numbers"

I'm desperate for work, I'm not a lazy scrounging ******* like some of you will undoubtably call me, I apply for all advertised jobs as longs as the hours aren't under 8 per week.

I am now setting up work trials, which will in no way guarantee me any work after the trial, but will effectively mean I'll be working all week in a shop for £60 a week.

EDIT: Sorry for the rant :p
