best aa batteries to get ?

Just thinking a bit about the amount of disposable batteries we must go through in the UK per year is horrifying. Quite a few people will just throw them in the bin once used so unless they are somehow sorted from the rest of the waste, that's a lot of nasty landfill.

I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of phasing out of standard batteries yet.

I'm far from a tree hugging green hippy type, but was just pondering and it made me a bit :eek:
 
disposable battery usage must have fallen drastically in the last 5 or so years. Nearly all equipment now comes with self contained rechargeable batterys.
 
I but cheapest possible X brand from supermarket.

They last for ages and cost next to nothing for 20 :D
