Just thinking a bit about the amount of disposable batteries we must go through in the UK per year is horrifying. Quite a few people will just throw them in the bin once used so unless they are somehow sorted from the rest of the waste, that's a lot of nasty landfill.
I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of phasing out of standard batteries yet.
I'm far from a tree hugging green hippy type, but was just pondering and it made me a bit
disposable battery usage must have fallen drastically in the last 5 or so years. Nearly all equipment now comes with self contained rechargeable batterys.
