Those with dogs...does yours howl?

howling would be fine, mine likes to roll in fox **** :|

short of keeping her on the lead all the time is there any way to stop this?

Try a light smack on the nose and a firm "NO!" right after every time it does the ****-roll... it should soon learn not to do it as long as it's not thick as mince.

Doesn't usually hurl but we can persuade him by howling ourselves :p

My dog howls when he's lonely. It's a truly heartbreaking sound, I can't help but go back and cuddle him if he does that. He also howls when the telephone rings.
My dog does this as well, apart from the telephone bit :D

Whenever i leave the house i wait by the door and can hear him howling quietly to himself. It really is heartbreaking so i make sure i give him a good run at the park when i get back.

No mine doesn't howl. It goes nuts if it hears a fox though. Runs to the back door and barks to try and get out and chase it.

So my dad and I found a tv program with foxes on to play it every now and then, its pretty funny.

The dog hates the noise of the squeak that's why it's howling!

Look at the video at 27 seconds, it's flicking it's head away from the sound and it's ears keep twitching away and flattening...I'm sure you don't realise it but you are tormenting your dog - read his body language.

My irish setter howls when I howl at her - thought she was crying thinking I was hurt or something but her tail was wagging and she appears to like doing it, I now think she is trying to sing along as she has started to do it if I sing (although with my singing it could be painful to her!)- only does this with me or my dad??

One talks to you and howls anytime I get my harmonica out, which means I have practised with it for nearly a year now :(

The other just barks.

So your dog is exhibiting behaviour that is undesirable and everytime it does it you reward it with a cuddle?:confused:

Please tell me you don't have kids!

My dog has me well trained.

In truth, he only did it a couple of times. And these days, my parents are semi-retired and there's always someone with him. Not my problem anyway since I moved out a couple months ago.

I miss my dog. :(
