I actually like my interior, personally I find some BMW interiors a little too overdone for my tastes (last one I was in had black and beige/brown leather-look plastic all over the place*) This one has sensibly laid out controls, looks decent enough. I really like the dashboard lights (pic coming after it goes dark) and has enough toys to keep me happy.
I was actually surprised to find climate control (including AC that still works just fine) and automatic headlights on my 1993 Datsun. The seats are comfy too, which immediately puts it above anything VW have put out in the last decade. Still need to figure the drivers seat out though as it has about 8 points of adjustment.
Other little nicetities in the interior are that the sun visors have an exactly shaped recess to go into, complete with a latching mechanism so that they don't start to flop about as they get older and the map reading lights which are admittedly common nowadays, but this was made in 1993!
*that said, I draw the line at Vauxhall's attempt to copy that BMW interior, the Vectra I had as a hire car had two-tone black and beige/brown plastic-look plastic all over the place, and the beige was an exact copy of the colour of a really badly nicotine-stained pub wall.
