Didn't say I agree. But it's what I understand the law to be in a very condensed-simplified version.
Burglary is not a minor crime, it is not nice and we rightly have a right to defend ourselves. Just a shame it doesn't go further.

@Chimerical - if it is made clear to the criminal underclass that they are putting their lives at risk by breaking into other people's homes then it will cut the number of burglaries. This can be seen from the example of the USA, where the law clearly is on the side of the home owner, not the intruder and burglaries are lower over there than they are here.
