I am telling you that 'your' definition of vapourware is indeed incorrect, maybe you'd like to go google it as it is clearly at odds with what the rest of the internet thinks. The very fact that there has never been a definite release date pretty much precludes it from ever becoming vapourware, at worst it will become an unfinished project. Show me a quote that gives a definite date and I'll shut the hell up.

Honestly I know people have always been saying PC gaming is dying but I think the time has finally come.

Other than MMORPG's the future of PC games looks pretty shabby, look at what is in development.

What's in development? Duke Nukem Forever? Operation Flashpoint 2, Bioshock 2, DIRT 2, Portal 2, COD Modern Warfare 2 (lot of 2's suggesting longevity) Deus Ex 3, BF3, HL2 Ep 3, Street Fighter 4, Alan Wake.

Plus extensions/add ons for Sins of a Solar Empire, Company of Heroes, Delta Force, TF2, Left 4 Dead . . .

Looks pretty good to me

Now compare that number to the number of games that come on consoles first and then get a poor PC port (or stay console only).

I know that they can probably be played better on your pc, but for the majority of people they dont have the interest or money to spend on their PCs and so settle for the consoles. This is a HUGE contributing factor to the decline of PC gaming.

PC gaming will not die, its just struggling to stay ahead of the consoles whatever the PC fanobys may think.

Oh come off it EP1 was rubbish, and EP2 was just a re-hash of killing the same old combine guards with a new enemy type thrown in and some far less-than-lethal striders at the end....

Neither of them made me want to replay them like the original HL2 did, which is a bit of a shame really

The Witcher was a 2008 PC exclusive title untill CDRedProjekt decided to port it to Xbox 360 (still pending release to my knowledge). I think there is hope but the thing which gets me the most is having to wait for wicked games released on console first. Surely the developer would WANT to see their games "the way theyre meant to be played" on a platform with superior graphics and audio. I assume this is down to the publishers and any long term agreements over platform exclusives? Well, I'm by no means an expert just a consumer at the end of the day!

Well, I never really felt angry at any point of typing any of those posts, if I remember I was alt tabbing between WoW and this forum for most of them - at no point was I in a rage smashing away at my keyboard whilst frothing at the mouth... but since neither you or any of the other morons in this thread have been able to give anything other than gibberish in your reasoning for the death of PC rather than any actual facts / numbers I guess trying to get personal will have to do?

What a load of testicles. The quality of the best console games are easily as good as those offered on the PC. Some of the most popular titles of last year on the PC were multi platform titles, so by what you're saying the console exclusives (and often best received games) are rubbish, but as soon as it's released on the PC too it's a good game?

I didn't say anything of the sort & if you had quoted what i said in full & read careful, i did say across the board on condole & PC & nowhere did i say the anything about exclusive nor was my reply to a post about exclusives, nor did i say that once they come out on the PC they turn from rubbish to good.

You cant buy a top class game every month on the Console or PC.
The standards have dropped across the board as the console crowed on avg are more casual & less fussy than the PC crowed & now they cater games at the console level.

Dawn of war 2, empire total war big pc exclusives that came out a few weeks ago. All capcom games: resident evil 5, devil may cry 4, lost planet are designed for pcs and ported to consoles.

furthermore pc ports end up being the superior versions. countless of examples like: Mirrors Edge, Devil May Cry 4, Assassins Creed, The last Remnant, Mass effect, Burnout Paradise, Gears of War etc etc

The only way to see if PC is in decline is to compare games sales on the PC from the past & not compare sales to consoles.
Example: top selling PC games sold 100k ten years ago but today sell 1,000,000. that would say things have grown & not declined.

The problem is that your cross platform comparing which is not in context with the heading.
All that it shows is the console platform is growing faster than the PC platform, which could be a problem if some developers only want to develop for the fastest growing platforms.

I have a XBOX , XBOX360, PS2, & tomorrow i will have a PS3 & i have more games on the PC than all of them put together.

If i look to get all of the possible games that i want to play on each plat form - PS2 & XBOX.

XBOX360 GOW2, DOA4, PGR4, NinjaGaiden2, SoulCalibur 5. is all that have or want & as of yet no future titles.
PS3 KillZone2, MotorStorm PR, heavenly Sword, GT5 the full version when it comes out. is all that have or want & as of yet no future titles.
On the PC i have about 60 games some are cross platform & what i can buy right now to added to the list that i want is Mirrors Edge, BurnOut P, Fear 2, FlatOut Carnage & many future titles that i cant be bothered to list.
