I know it's a few years old but the other day I picked up a copy of TRD3 as it was only £9.99

Unfortunately it doesn't come with a manual and so I have no way of knowing what the 2 bars are in my screenshot below? (yellow and green)

p.s. I got that picture from a google search as I'm not sure if the PrtScnSysRq key would work as I've not tried it!

Anyone ever played TRD3 and know what they are?

Cheers. :)

From what I remember, the bars represent the state of the icon above it. The orange one is your drivetrain (it's not always orange though, it's just a damage meter) and the green one is the amount of damage of your tyres.

If memory serves they're the engine and tyre temperatures.
Engine damage can cause the engine to overheat and lose power, hot tyres grip less well.

If it's the bargaintastic version the manual is probably on the DVD as a PDF. It'll be cunningly hidden in a folder called Manual probably!

Thanks to you and X-Morgan :)

Thanks I forgot about looking on the DVD :o

However it requires Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to read it and I avoid that like the plague as it's bloatware.

I use FoxIt instead but I don't think you can use it to read an AAR file :(

Anyway, at least now I know what the bars are for :D

I didn't even realise there was a third!
I did but was put off buying it a couple of years ago because of the StarForce protection controversy but happily it isn't on my PC.

I checked by going into Device Manager and showing 'Hidden Devices' and it isn't listed under 'Non-Plug & Play Drivers'.

It's a great game and for only a tenner

They still playing it? I stopped playing online in favour of GRID.
I've got GRID as well but my graphics card isn't really up to it so I'll wait until the new DirectX 11 cards come out and upgrade then.

I also find it difficult to control the cars in GRID but it's probably lack of practice!

The graphics in GRID are so lifelike it's like watching a race on the TV

p.s. TRD3 will do me for now.

GRID is mint. No idea if it's DX10 as I'm running it on XP. Runs smooth as silk at pretty much full detail on my rig. (E6750, ATI 4850, 1680x1050). Tried it on the 360 too, but the PC version looks a lot better.

The Yankee Pro Stock stuff like the Mustang are a lot of fun :D

I'm not playing online as much as I was - influx of ramming kiddies annoyed me, plus there are some annoying ways of beating the system and getting a faster car. I'll likely go back to it when they patch it up properly.

I could have started another thread to mention this but as this one is already discussing TRD3 :D

Does anyone else get the cars speeding up when coming out of bridges (i.e. going underneath them)?

I've never seen this happen before in any game and am just curious as to why it happens?

I've always preferred this to GRID due to the (in my view) better physics engine.

I'm hoping codies use the graphics from GRID and the physics from this for the new F1 game...

I didn't even know that there was going to be a new F1 game for the PC

I thought that the consoles had exclusive rights?

I'm still using F1 Challenge 99-02 but it's still good although dated.

Nope it's going to be full multiformat:D, but we probably aren't going to see it until the end of this year. I just hope they make it worth the wait...

TOCA 2 was about the best in the series imo. TOCA 3 was pretty good. Just something missing in GRID for me.
