Calipers

Ferodo DS2500 are really dusty, if that matters to you...

Personally i'll be trying something else when mine are done with.

Doesn't bother me too much to be honest. I clean the car regularly already so I doubt it'll make much difference. I'm more interested in braking performance and the DS2500 apparently offer that.

They also (DS2500's) felt like crap on my LCR. Given that I have larger brakes, and the same weight/setup car, I'd imagine they'd feel like crap for you too.

brembos

however much you say you cant afford them you will appreciate the improved stopping power and damn they look nice nestled away behind the wheels :D

brembos are heavy and overpriced, get some wilwoods for half the price and just as good stopping power.

I've tried Wilwoods on a Nova rally car and I have to say, for what - £300 ish quid? - they were fantastic.

If you want decent pads, then look at Mintex M1144 pads.

Very good pads, I've got some on my front brakes (283mm discs) once warm they stop you exceptionally well

Ah yes mintex.

If anyone wants a free front set for a MK4 golf GTi, the front of an LCR or the rear of an LCR email me.

They are utter garbage.

Wouldn't trust them to stop a go-kart.

You sure your talking about the 1144's Para?

They are a racing compound, v.good.. I'm not talking about the bog standard pop into your local motorfactor jobbys :p

RED.

I may be slightly biased though as I did mine a few weeks ago.

Ignore the boring arses who say it looks rubbish :p

You have an Audi S3 and it will not look tacky in the slightest. You don't need to have brembos to have red calipers.

OK guys, I think I need to step in here and point the thread back at the original question. With regards to the parts I'm buying, I've made the decision based on feedback from a lot of people, not just on this forum. I've been thinking about this for a good deal of time and have made the decisions now. It doesn't matter what you choose, there will always be someone who has had a "bad" experience with something so I've made my decisions based on good accounts and the number of bad experiences (a low number being the obvious pointer) generally encountered.

The OT was really geared up for "do I need to do anything with the calipers?". IF SO... I will look at the next stage. Maybe posting up colours was a little... preemptive? I need to know if the calipers will simply be fine as they are.
