Photoshop logo help!

Hi guys and girls,

I am starting up as a sole trader and I am trying to design some leaflets and business cards. I have come up with a logo concept but I’m struggling to make it look professional but still 'local'. I’m useless with Photoshop and spent a few hours doing this in word.

If anyone could take the idea and fiddle with it I would greatly appreciate it!

You realise the picture of the guy running is already a logo, and therefore copyrighted? That logo is an embarassment, makes you look cheap and childish. Get someone who knows what they're doing if you want it to have a positive effect on your business rather than a negative one.

Exaclty why i have asked for help on here befor going off to the printers! :)

We spent quite a lot of money on a logo and still wasn't really pleased, I then asked a few members on here if they would like to do one and sent a little prize for the winner.

Im sorry I think the op forgot to add to the top of his post "No ****'* allowed"

its going on the side of a van Im guessing and at the top of headed paper possibly, maybe the odd business card or two. I hardly doubt this gents looking for a logo for a multi national corporation.

Nice one Captain Obvious - way to go. He said he wasn't happy with it and wanted some help to improve it

Although I liked some of the ideas above I still like my original concept but still can’t get it looking 'right' maybe a different style of text would help.

Here is what I have so far, obviously have to remove the little man logo as didn’t realise it was copyright! But it gives an idea of where I’m heading.

Also the orange background looks either good or bad depending on how i look at my screen so going to have to print a few to test it out! Might be a bit to garish! Also the text is not final, but open to suggestions.

Lose the orange - it says nothing about plumbing. The red and blue are predictable but eye-catching.

The layout will have to change though as it just isn't legible enough. At the moment I read it as "Sab Th Plu" - remember, westerners read text from the top to bottom, left to right :)

I'd knock you up something if I had some time but snowed under at the moment - anyway hope the above helps :)

Orange is hideous mate sorry, white background looks much more professional and likely to get you more work.

The word art effects really don't do it any good aswell. If its got to be cheap and done in word then make it plain without the poor quality outlines and shading effects on the text.

Hope that helps. :)

Wont quote everyone, but thanks for all the advice and help. been working on this all day and didnt realise how late it was! Think i might have to end up spashing some cash on it as its the most important thing to get right, Everything i do follows on from these leaflets so need them to work!

Thanks again

Just to point out, that plumber picture is already a logo...

edit: someone already pointed that out =(

No offense, but all of these are truly awful on so many levels.

Find a proper designer to design you a logo. At the very least contact a local university/college and find a student who will design you a logo for £50 or something.

Kind of have to agree, was going to knock one up a few minutes ago but need to get some sleep.
