Poor Kitty

then surely the bit under the black fur would be more tanned? :p
But hairs are cylindrical, therefor when light is reflected off them, it's reflected in all directions (including some towards the skin). The black fur absorbs the light, it does not pass through to the skin and thats why its hotter to touch ;)

(btw: this is my theory based on my higher physics and in no way scientific fact :p i could be completely wrong)

i'm pretty sure it doesn't work that way :p

anyway, my cats fur is so dense that it could block out all the light in the world :D

Poor little moggy :(

Hope he comes through okay... I'd hate for anything to happen to my two moggies. I'm a lot more attached to them than I really should be (as I imagine most pet owners are...). Best of luck.

More cute to balance the thread

:( Poor Ace, Did they check he hadn't been bitten Rotty ? Jinx our neighbours cat was doing something very similer (dragging his back end) and he had an internal abscess from a cat bite on his back :(

although reading the OP again it prolly would have been found considering how much the little tykes been through

They haven't approved it yet but we had no choice other than to go ahead, should be ok

Bill is running about £3,700 to date

this is when your glad you took insurance, that £7 a month becomes very worth it :p.

lucky we had insurance when our cat got hit by a car, that came to about £700 and he had to have a plate put in his leg.

hope your cat is better soon.

Infectious disease test clear

Not sure if good news or not but seeing as he is improving daily I don't see a lot to worry about

He can now get up and down stairs, albeit slowly

A big improvement from not being able to stand a week ago :)

Improvement is good news. Our Bengal "gem" had some ops about 6 months ago and you can still see the squares where they shaved her (ooer).

Good luck and keep us updated.

Glad he appears to be getting better, looks like an awesome cat.

Only one thing though...I'd be too tempted to markerpen a barcode on the back of his head where it's been shaved. :p
