The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Im now saving up 35Mil for my next step to Universe Domination. 35Mil for a Drake. Kitted my Caracal out with Heavy Missile launchers, shield extender, shield repairer, Powergrid upgrade thing. Takes a lot to take down nearly 5K shield in level 1 missions, lol.

Training my Salvaging skills so i can salvage (duh) and then make my 20mil to get a Drake (I has 15mil). Going to take some time.

P.S. How do i get into OCUK Corp?

Drake can handle level 4's if you fit it right. The rigs are what make the drake excel, but there as much as the ship each.

Spent a lot of isk over the last few nights on my alt kitting out my Navy Raven (what else) with faction. Chews through missions real quick now, 650 DPS, tanks well, not that it matters if everything is dead. For those that are interested:

Nice set up. Was that 1 billion cost including the ship or just the fittings. I've been playing for for 5 years (infact exatcly 5 years next week I think) and still fail to follow the prices of faction gear!

Woot :) Don't forget you need to factor cost of fitting :) And insurance!

My Paladin setup

4x Mega Pulse IIs
2x Tractor Beam
1x Salveger

3x Cap Recharger IIs
1x Tracking computer II with Rage Script

DCU II
2x Large Armor Rep II
2x Mission Specific Hardners
1x Energised Adaptive Nano II
1x Cap Power Relay

Rigs
2x Cap Control Unit II

Everything Run permantly and i can get hit with 3xheavy neuts and still withstand my tank.

This is my main mission ship for level 4. Clears entire complexes in no time.

I find it dissicult to justify the cost of Faction Loot as my tech 2 items are more than enough for the things i come accross.

However my archon carrier is full faction fitted and is a beast.

Did you check the pros and cons for these over Semiconductor Memory Cell rigs?

I use SMCs on my Golem and from what i remember they worked out quite a bit more effective.

My Golem Setup is quite similar;

4x CN Cruise Launchers
2x Salvager
1x Tractor

4x Mission Spec CN hardeners
Pithi A XL Shield Booster
Pithi A Shield Boost Amp
Phased Weapon Array(meta4 painter)

3x CN BCS
1x Expanded Cargohold II

2x SMC I
5x Hammer II, 5x Hobgob II

Costs about a billion to replace everything now. Faction has dropped in price significantly, especially the CNR. The mods the pice is semi stable because of the costs of the tags and isk needed to buy them.

Deadspace wise some is going up, others down.

I plugged the numbers in with SMC's and they last longer, but the sustained tank is less, just slightly. But running out of cap is normally the only reason id have to warp. So that is the better setup. I bought the thing with CCC's a long time ago, it was only a couple of mil more than a un-rigged one.

Generally if i dont mess the triggers up thats never an issue. So i wont bother changing.

Have you flown a CNR? If so, how is it at mission munching compared to a Golem? Im thinking of training for it, ive got battleship 5 but i dont even have weapon upgrades 5. Currently grabbing all the social skills before i remap, my attibutes are dire for training combat skills. (20.9C, 26.4I, 18.7P, 25.3M, 20.9W, +4 implant set)

EDIT: fom what i can see on EFT, Golem is, more expensive, lower DPS 80ish, higher sustained tank, Higher peek tank, 3 extra highs for salvager and tractor beams, extra target painter. Im not sure its going to be more money over time or worth the 2 months training.

I spent about a year in a CNR running lvl4s and the Golem is imo, with Maruader V, much quicker thru lvl4s, the main benefits being the 40km tractors and huge cargo means i rarely have to go back for salvage/loot, i can do it as i go along.

Level 4 missions generally consist of my aggroing everything, releasing the drones and then popping everything that comes within 40km of me, keeping 4 rats locked and 6 wrecks tractoring them and salvaging them. :)

Caldari specialise in missiles etc however some of the ships do use Gallente guns (rails and blasters) so yes train those too.

Nope not hard to get into a corp. Find one you like and apply. some set criteria you must match but otherwise the world is your oyster. You can even create your own and start world domination yourself!

Yeah colinuk, i was in the fight on "bobs" side fight was pretty mental, lag was okish but amazing compared with 2 years ago, local was at 1400 at one point.

If your going caldari, go with either misiles or rails, not both. You can branch out later to include the one you missed, but they require very different skills. There is only two common skills between them.

At cruiser and battle cruiser size, i think the misile ships are definatly better. Battleships its swings and rounderbouts, and frigs are about equal.

Any one got a spare buddy key , email in trust ;-) ignore thought i could use this on my old account lol

I'm not joining until i get back from america but i wouldnt mind a bit information now.

i'm hoping to go into the industrial/salvage kind of thing. i would like a big transport ship like one of the cargo ships we use to transport goods with. is there something like that in the game? whats the best route to go character/race wise if i wanted to go this way?

I would probably go with Caldari Industrials. To start with you have the tech one Badger and Badger Mk 2, you can be in these pretty fast. Then if you get Industrial lvl 5 you can move onto the tech 2 industrials, the transport ships. One is big, slow and can carry about 30,000m3, thats enough for two battlecruiser sized hulls. The second transport ship, the blockade runner, has a smaller cargohold but is fast to align and has built warp core stabs.

Past that you have the freighter and the jump freighter.

I like the sound of a cruiser with extra cargo space. can this be done. whats the best race for cruisers?

TBH your best off going for the blockade runner, like I said, fast to align and warp, as fast as a cruiser, built in WCS and I think a bonus to the tanking abilitys.

It changed a while back, the transport ship which is faster to align & warp dropped the WCS bonus for a covert ops cloak while the larger of the two ships gained the WCS bonus.
