Ooopps... Suspended!

A jab in jest != assault and we all know he was fired because they didn't want to make a redundancy, the judges in courts aren't complete idiots (usually).
Absolute tosh. So much as placing my hand on your shoulder is assault. Jabbing someone is definitely assault. Unwanted Physical contact is assault.

good effort, and congratulations for taking it so well.

to be fair, it is probably the best story you are going to be part of, so enjoy it!!

What exactly do I do when I apply for a job and they ask why I left my previous job?!

1) Lie

2) Skip that job off your CV if possible

3) Be truthful, explain scenario, with a signed statement off your mate saying it was all a big misunderstanding. *Also carry a rabbits foot in your pocket, cross your fingers and find a 4 leaf clover before the interview. Possibly underneath a black cat... *

Yea, I'll never even touch another human being in a place of work again.

A disagreement with a fellow colleague made it an uncomfortable place in which to work, you left in order to do what was best for the company and to reduce the chance of any further conflicts.

Just don't mention the sandwich.

Good luck finding a job in the current economic climate! Sounds like it was a little extreme to be fired (even though arguably justified).

Well done on taking it so well, I assume you are not directly up **** creek without a paddle? I.E - No money for mortgage payments, etc?

how many people saw it happen?

you and the other guy should just deny anything happened at all, and say that they are victimising you for no reason

then try and get your jobs back :D

Unwanted physical contact is not assault otherwise restraining someone from jumping off a bridge would be considered assault.

To commit assault, you must cause the other person to apprehend unlawful violence.

Signing on at the job centre may be an issue, they send a letter to your previous employer to find out why you were let go. I hope that doesn't have any impact on any payments you may be entitled too.

All the best looking for a new job and with the appeal. Would you want to go back if it got over turned?

Why? I started a new job at the beginning of the month for more money than I was getting at my old job and with better hours. The work is out there, you've just got to go looking for it.

If you say that you did this job and were fired, the DWP will ask your employer for a reference. If they then hear that you were dismissed for physical violence, you're not doing yourself any favours...

Not much of a statement to go on is it?

Fact that there is less work at the moment so it will be slightly harder just because you got lucky and walked into another doesn't mean he will. He is going to find it hard to find another job.

Skyfall what did you do previously?

Good question, I liked the job and we were a close knit team, we all got along really well and everyone on my team are already down about what's happened to the both of us.

It just seems to me such a minor thing to be fired over. The worst part is that I was actually good at my job.

Dont lie to the job centre obviously lol, nothing wrong with a bit of creative thinking when applying for actual jobs tho ;)

What did you do? Are there other jobs in the area requiring that skillset?

Get out there and get looking for a job you BUM! :)

Btw: The MRS and I always have the conversation about the sandwhich and cutting it in half. I'd say two rounds of bread put together and cut in half makes 2 sandwhiches. She calls them half sandwhiches. After the argument we usually have make up sandwhich.

Need to apply to at least two jobs each time you go down and provide proof and show how you've been searching for jobs etc. He's got a lot of creative writing ahead of him :D
