Someones nicked me website!

hehe, I'm not after any money from em :) But I think it is illegal to do what they've done, so just want to make them aware. (Assuming it is a tog 'Mike' who has paid someone else 'Sean Speers').

That is extremely cheeky. To reproduce an idea you've seen before I have no problem with, but to directly copy a page in the full knowledge that it is someone else's work is really off. If it was indeed a web designer, then that's even worse.

I'm not sure that the checking website linked deals well with php, as I'm pretty sure I've got bits (without php) copied from mine - I've seen one of them on this forum, too, though I don't particularly mind :p. After all, one of the main things that's useful about the list of galleries in the sticky is that you can steal ideas from other people :eek:
 
The name is brilliant and the photography crap so I wouldnt worry. Take it as a compliment and dont worry about it. How did you find it anyway?

hehe, true :D I really don't mind that, as Ive said before. I'm mostly just concerned that it appears this guy actually paid someone to copy my work directly :P

I found it with http://www.copyscape.com/ by accident, I stumbled upon the site and thought I'd play! :)

i know this topic is all about someone taking your site but your image gallery is very nice, i'm trying to create an image gallery for my page, how do you create that so when you click the image is pops-up with a nice looking navigation bar and description?

The pop up is "lightbox", its an excellent little piece of kit! :)

If he means the way the thumbs light up as you mouse over, and flash randomly when not mousing over, then no that isnt lightbox, I wrote the code for it myself after seeing something much more baic in another gallery addon (in which the code to do so was hidden so I couldnt nick it).

As such it is my own work, but even so its a completely moot point. The problem is that it's my website, my work, cut and pasted. I feel a little affronted by this (not a lot), and even though some people like to say "but theres nothing unique on your site anyway" I'm pretty sure they'd feel the same way if someone cut and paste their website and only changed the name.
 
I dont think it's really even the cut and pasting that would annoy me, but the calim that it was designed by someone else, and possibly charged to "do" it.
