Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

if you're wanting to beat on the AI for trophies/characters/trials etc. all you need to do is cheese them with zangief.

knock them down then lariet as they are about to get up, the AI can't handle it

I'd love them to make a patch so you can see what controller your opponent has.

I just don't find it fair as we all know how bad the 360 pad is and even a fightpad is a giant advantage.

I flat out wouldn't play someone using an arcade stick you'd never stand a chance.

Sometime I feel I lose because the move I input does not register or I do a dragon punch movement rather than fireball and so on.

lol it's not a complex I wish it were I will be 10x better when I finally get a fightpad or stick I feel handicapped.

People using arcade stick probably encounter this issue way more than you do on a controller. :p

At least the people not used to using them, I used to constantly whack out dragon punches instead of fireballs.

Nope you can unlock people playing on easiest, most people do it on easiest with only 1 round matches, this is the quickest way to unlock people.

Google who to complete with to unlock who I can't be bothered to list. All I will say is to get the last boss Seth, you have to do it with everyone.

Does it matter what level you complete Arcade on to unlock characters? I've completed it on Easiest -> Easy on various characters and have yet to unlock anything besides Movies and the odd other bit of tat.

Or have I just by fluke done it on the wrong characters?

nope it doesn't matter what level you set the AI on, you have to use certain characters to unlock more characters. For akuma, Gouken and have to fill certain parameters to unlock them cant't remember what they are but search around :)

You don't need to play as Gouken to unlock Akuma.

Ojste and Streeteh use the pad and can do some amazing combos.

Cavallino tonight we shall play, and get that picture of your face as soon as i beat you.

My ranked win streak in now 96 i think! woooo! - Is there some kind of record? because i might be top lol

While i very much appreciate the compliment i wouldn't put me in the same boat as ojste by a long shot :p

That said however, i do agree that a pad is by no means necessary, i'm sure that super-high-end players will benefit from having access to a good stick but then i'm sure they'd still kick peoples asses with just as much skill if they were limited to a pad. Even when i had a brief play with the 360 pad i was nearly as effective, my only issue was that i kept misplacing my fingers on the bumpers, the d-pad was still functional thanks to the short-cut system. I don't see anyone on these forums who is even bordering on top level players skill, maybe if people like ojste kept playing this obsessively for the next couple of years possibly, but not yet. Until that time i'm gonna say that no one on here really NEEDs a stick to improve skill, but that said i still want one as it just looks like more fun with a proper arcade stick feel.

That and i want to be able to walk into an arcade and kick ass. At present i don't have a clue how to use a stick and would suck badly at it.

I do know where C64 is coming from however, when i first got the game i was certain i was at a huge disadvantage due to using a pad. RP2000 was adamant that a stick wasn't an instant-win peripheral and now i see he was absolutely right.

I didn't say you were as consistent as him or as good a player, but you can certainly pull off some impressive combo strings when you're on form :)
