Ever had one of those days where you can't play for poop?
Yep, that's me
seems experimenting has mixed me up a bit and now i never really seem to punish as best i can when i get the opportunity, so many times i've missed my chance due to pausing for a second to decide what to use.
I'm up for some games tonight if anyone else is game?
I'll be up for some, get your headset on so we can discuss anti-Guile/Sagat strategies![]()
Will add you later mate for some games. Will be on at about 4pm. I am the forum punch bag atm (I am in the league anyway) so it would be nice to get some practice in.
Morning guys. Got my Catz SE stick yesterday and ........ I am just not getting on with it - need some advice.
Now I have never played SF in the arcades and never on a stick at home (always pad) so this is completely new to me. I have played with it for about 3 hours now and I just cannot get to grips with it at all. I can pull of the moves, but just so inconsistently it is just not true.
Fireball - most of the time I am doing a crouching punch and then when I move the stick further I jump. same with dragon punch.
spinning kicking - the same; sweep or jump kick.
I think one of the big issues for me is the fact that the stick moves in a square base and so you can't naturally swing the stick around - it goes to the corners. I thought that it would move in a circle or a octagonal base so you can feel when the stick is at the top, down forward, forward, down back, etc etc, positions. the difference in position between down forward, foward, forward up is just to small for me to be able to pull off precision moves and quickly. if there was a notch or something so I could feel when the stick was in the positions that I think I would find it easier.
I appreciate that it is me and not the stick, as top players use sticks. However has anybody else found this and any advice? Also I read that some people have modified the stick with Sanwa parts; what does this do and how did it help you?
Cheers in advance.
Edit: Just saw this video on you tube.

I'd never even think of claiming blanka is a 'noob' character, but there's no denying that he is a difficult one to learn how to beat. As it stands, if i go online and play randomers the moment they pick blanka i *know* the odds of me winning are small.
He is the only character i think that about, they could pick any other character and i would go in with full confidence, but not him, surely that must signify something?
