I was wondering about angel eyes on the E46 facelift models, i quite like the look of them but what is the general consensus on these forums? chav or not?

I understand that facelift models require the headlamp being baked in the oven? Are they difficult to fit even for a complete tool like myself?

:)

I've got some and think they look fine. They look awful on Astras and other non BMW cars though imo (usually found to have clear rear clusters, etc).

did you fit them yourself?
Yep. Just popped the headlamps out (couple of bolts to undo) and the open the head lamp itself. Stick the rings over each pair of lamps. Run the cables out the back somewhere and connect up. Remove the sidelight bulbs. Put head lamps back into place :p Pretty much it.

Are they not more at home on a 5? I for some reason think they belong there and when I see an E46 with them I think "clart".

Hmm, I'm seeing a transition starting these days. The E46 is slowly becoming the new E36 (chavs BMW) and the E36 is becoming the new E30 (cheap&fun toy).

is your car a facelift modEl?

hmm arguably that's not exactly true. There aren't any new jap monsters (excluding the GTR I guess), the new stuff from Japan is dross these days. At least BMW consistently release new cars which are better than the last ones.

it is exactly true. just because there isnt anything recent to prove it doesnt mean it isnt true.
higher end cars get cheap to buy, people in lower budget ranges start to be able to afford them.
