:eek::eek: picking a team based on that you would be a bit short of players at Yeovil :D
7 games into the season i have 7 players that make that grade,
3 of them dont make the first team because they are not good enough !! or play positions i dont need,
Another starts on the bench,
Leaving 3 first 11 starters,

But those averages are a bit miss leading at the moment, several signings that have not played as many games and stuff, i am expecting a few more to improve as the games clock up,
Also im not pushing for the title, if they got average ratings above 7 i probably would be towards the top of the league.
At the moment i am looking at above 6.5 tends to keep you in the first team
start dropping lower than that and i am looking to make changes.

Currently top of League two and knocked out of the FA Cup in the first round on penalties. :(

I just cannot win penalty shoot-outs, even though I have a good shot stopping GK and good penalty takers.

I have had two penalty shoot outs so far, and its only end of September,

Championship Bristol City (and Yeovil Rivals)
We won 4-3 on penaltys in 1st round of the league cup, 1-1 after 90 mins, 1-1 after extra time

Swindon 1st round of the JPT, 0-0 after 90mins, we won 10-9 on penaltys after it was 4-4 after 5 spot kicks each,

And i didnt think i had many decent penalty takers in the team,
I do now one player that will not be taking any more, at the higher end ratings from my team for penalty taking, taken two, missed two :rolleyes:

To be honest that is the sort of numbers i was expecting someone to say, just wanted to make sure.
I didnt play 08 or 07 much, so its been a few years since i put a good amount of time into FM, trying to remember what i used to do, sure when looking for the title i was looking for well over 7 from most of the team, and those below 7 struggle to get a regular game,
Want to ensure i was still aiming for the right area when it comes to who is good enough and who isnt good enough to return after there summer hols,
It might have all changed in the last few years and now everyone looks for 8.5+ :D
 
I don't know if it's just my game, but is there often a shortage of left-back regens coming in around 2015? I am finding it tough to find any decent ones.

lol just bitter becaus im a liverpool fan lol anybody else found that theyve been toned down a lot on this version. Does elano even get in with all those signings :D
 
Hoping to finish my first season tonight :)
Currently playing as Aberdeen Manager and I am top of the league but been knocked out of both cups :(

Every time I try to sign someone, it gets leaked... Any ideas on how to stop this from happening? Had to pay 55k for a player worth only 35k because of this!! It's highly annoying!!
 
Well, finished my first season with AC Milan a few days ago and am now a few games in to the new season.

Took the title, losing only 1 game in the league all season! Lost out in the UEFA Cup Semi Final and lost in the Italian Cup Semi Final aswell but that didn't stop me from getting my first ever Manager of the Year accolade! (In FM09).

I personally don't agree with Saviet being voted worst signing. Think he got 2 goals in about 10 sub appearances, but at this stage of the game his stats are crap and he was only really brought on during the last 10-20 minutes of games I was dominating. Still, sent him on loan to Portsmouth (who are now a feeder club :D) and Zuculini is on loan at Blackburn and doing rather well.

Still need to strengthen some areas of the squad though. Too many of my backup players are ones currently in development. They can't compete with some of the better teams and players in Serie A.

So I have no saved games... actually really pleased about this, I'm going to start one game at home, and only one game ! Those who talk to me on msn know I have a habbit of getting bored mid season.

Although with living in Prague I never get to see any of their games or even highlights now :mad:

9 games from the end of the season + Semi final of the Scottish cup to go, not doing too badly. 18 points clear at the top :D

I don't get that all the time but often enough to annoy me. No idea when it came in. Me no likey. :(
 
It happens to me every... 1 out of 5/6 signings, I have no idea how to stop it either.

Doesn't normally bug me, as I try and not to pay too much for players so I'll just try and unearth another good player.
 
ARGH

I dont know whats changed.............

Last season my team was doing good (I'm West Ham) and I would get decent results.

Right now my record is- W1 D2 L5

I dont even know what to change, tatics are the same and if anything my team is better???

I'd say that the strike force isn't as good (Ashton mostly), Kerrison takes ages to settle and Sturridge isn't THAT great.

Maybe try a new formation?
