Just a thought but use CPU-Z and click Mainboard tab. Have a look at Graphic Interface and check link width is x16 as this sometimes goes to x1 when overclocked.

The card just seems to struggle when their is a big battle going on and when things exploide it seems to shoot right down for some reason.

At the start of cod 5 on making day when the huts explode it shoots down to the late 40 and 50s for while infact during that whole bit its hardly above 60 fps.

After that bit when you get ambushed it is above 60 fps.

I looked at a review on cod 5 just now on bit tech and the 4870 x2 minium fps is poor when they tested it so maybe its just dont run well on 4870 x2.

I have got it on mate. i realised i needed that on when i was testing fear lol.

I have noticed the psu is extremely loud like its doing a lot of work just wondering if it is not up to the task maybe.

Were those games written for Xfire?
Could be you're actually only using one (slightly crippled) GPU.

What do ya mean?

Ran bioshock which seem to run fine.

I find that a lot newer games do not run great with v sync on when i turn it off i get a lot more fps for a lot of games the minium fps is not good on the 4870 x2 though hopefully few more drivers may help.

That is my 3d mark 06 score from the free downloaded version not sure what i should be aiming for my graphics card.

However when it was running the cpu test they were at like 1 and 2 fps not sure if that is normal?

Res was only 1280x1024 i think also because its free version.

Yes, its normal for the CPU test to be that low.

RE: The low frames in COD - you have unlocked the frame rate ? Otherwise the game will have locked it at a lot lower than its potential

Enter console by hitting ~

Then type

/com_maxfps <max fps here> (stock is 90 IIRC)

Exit consule by hitting ~

Give that a try

It wont let enter console on solo? im not talking about online i talking about 1 player with low fps im sure its the same on mp though.

Hit the tilde ` key (top left below escape normally) this brings up the console and type

/com_maxfps 500

Press enter. Press tilde ` key again. Play game. Enjoy more fps.

I got it to work. but the problem is the fps drop i get in games, it shoots down on intense area's and its ****ing me off now 300 quid for this, when the huts explode at the start of cod 5 drops to 50s is that normal? i have tried the offical 9.3 driver and now i have tried my driver cd all same results.
