Windows 7 7068 First impressions

Nice info about the middle click, but it is easy to tell if a program is running as it will have a border round it.

Running 7000 now, but tempted to go to the latest version in wiating for RC

Telling if it was already running wasn't the point .

I thought a right-click left-click was required to open a new instance, whereas in fact only a middle click is required.

so whats the latest 'leaked' build (im sure MS are deliberately misplacing them)? And can you just upgrade again with these?

i'm pretty sure the latest available leaked build is 7068.
i think the latest "leak" as in leaked screenshots are from build 7070.

7068 is nice, i upgraded to it tonight.

Hey, im currently running vista HP 64, is there any way I can install Windows 7 on the same drive as a multi-boot without naffing my vista installion up?

What are the specs to run this? I fancy trying it out on my laptop but its only a P4 3.0Ghz,2GB RAM, 256 dedicated gfx card, don't use it for games (except RCT2/3) ;), just browsing the net, mp3's and other stuff..

Should run fine, I'm running it on my Inspiron 1525 with a 2ghz core 2, 2gb of ram and onboard intel graphics. It's faster than vista and actually faster than an xp install I had on it a while back.

Specs = 1Ghz CPU, 1GB RAM, 50GB HDD, 128mb dx9 Graphics, Internet Connection (for activation). Off the top of my head, they are the same as Vista's minimum specs, but it will run much better than vista on lower spec machines.

Is there a way of making Firefox do the show each open tab thing that IE does when you hover over it?

It's the only thing that is actually annoying apart from the ever on going saga of Creative Drivers for the X-Fi fatal1ty.

Will that show it like this?

that's one thing i can't wait for...

apps to start using that to give controls, ie media controls for winamp like WMP has now (in the taskbar preview)

No, Firefox has to be written to make use of the new thumbnail API in Win 7. No doubt it'll come but it's too early right now.

OK mate, cheers. I'll stick with IE8 for the time being. I am half tempted to use it as my main OS as it runs soooo much better than Vista and then just use the upgrade function till the final release.

How is everyone else getting on with the X-Fi Drivers?
