Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

guys - need advice.

was playing Rainiac yesterday (fyi - do not know if he has been active on the forums, but I think he is very good (though really, with my skill level - am I a good judge?) - would love to get your opinions on it) and he played one of out matches as Guile and I was Sagat, and basically he just trapped me in the corner and I just could not get out.

If I jumped he force kicked me, if I move forward he sonic boomed. he then just chipped away at my health with light to medium strikes and the odd hard. I was just completely stuck and had no idea what to do.

Any advice?

Give me his XBL and I will slap him online for you :D

Would have been good if you could record your match actually!

But seriously, with Guile you have to remember that he does have a lot of weak spots. As Sagat you really need to play the zone game against Guile. A good Guile player would know how to get out a zoning situation, but a better Sagat player would know how to counters his opponents ability to get out of a zoning situation.

Rainiac is an excellent player. Definately one of the best I've played from the forums so don't feel too bad :p As far as I am aware he doesn't post on here much and doesn't like the pressure of leagues and tournaments (;)) but he gave me a lot to think about, he went through about 5-6 characters and I think I only beat him once. Maybe not quite on Ojste's level but he's an excellent player, playing against someone like him will only make you better :)

I think he's only on PSN but I could be wrong, and I promise you, you definately won't lol. ;)

Oh for god sake I forgot my PSN password and can't get on the email for it! Worst thing is the PS3 won't let me sign in with another ID so I have to create a whole new account for time being and lose all my trophys + titles/icons! :( :o

The latest PS3 update made me auto sign-in click off for some reason, I haven't had to manually enter the password for it in AGES. :(

IIRC it has to have a capital letter and a number if that helps.

It doesn't. :p

Time to make a new user account and set that up then...ugh, I hope the costumes continue to work as I have no idea what the password is for my old accounts email and it doesn't even have a proper secret question answer as I figured I'd never have to use it! :D

I received my octagonal restrictor plate yesterday and after 3 hours finally managed to fit it in, Jesus was it hard with the 4 pins. Any1 else find this extremely hard or was it just me?

reminded me of fitting really old crappy CPU fans with the black pins on 2 sides except worse cause these are smaller and there's 4 of them!!

anyways though its made all the difference for me, far easier pulling off ultras and supers now without jumping forward or doing a regular move.

lol - dude - posted this for you a page back:

just got and fitted my octagonal restrictor plate. Much much much better - I can actually pull off all the specials now :D

Was a pain to fit though. I know one other person posted in this thread that they had ordered one last friday like me and intended to fit it; EasyG I think. Warning mate - the old square gate one does not some off easily - contrary to what you have seen on youtube with the sanwa parts where the plate easily comes off. No. This one tests you more than ojste. ;)

I hack sawed mine off in the end - I just gentley and carefully cut the plastic bits on the plate that the clips snapped around - not the clips! and then lifted it up.

I had intended not to remove the stick fixture from the case - but for the fitting of the new plate I had to, so you might want to remove it in the first place - up to you. If you are not sure, for instructions on how to do this check this video on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXUrTS22fmw. He covers it at some point in that video after he has fitted the buttons.

You will then find that the sanwa octagonal plate will not go on as the clip holes are smaller than the clips. The way I got round this was to just shave a small amount off the clips with nail clippers - works a treat and takes seconds. The plate should just then snap on easily. Refit the stick and then you are away.

Still feels strange playing with a stick - but I will practice - at least now I can do the moves without my character jumping across the screen!

It took me about 45 mins in all using this 'destroy' method :D

hahah bloody hell m8 45 mins your method was clearly better then mine although using a hacksaw sounds pretty extreme.

after trying for an hour trying to hold the clips in whilst shoving a screwdriver under the plate i resorted to using 4 small screwdrivers, wedging each one between the plate and the pin and getting a metal ruler under it and kinda crowbar actioning it off the pins.

however in doing this i severaly bent/ nearly snapped the bottom right pin head off but its fine.

getting it on i just used pure brute force, got one pin and basically used a lot of body weight pressure on the top of the plate to snap the others in place with a rather scary sounding large snapping noise haha. given the heat last night there was a lot of puffing and panting and heavy sweating haha.

I will not be doing that again in a hurry!

Great fun Cav, we need to get a group of 4 regulars for when the winner stays on (quarters) mode is released, preferably players who will banter like you and Mailman. It really makes the game more enjoyable.
