you remind me of my father in law

He just goes from banger to banger. They blow up on him ocasionally, but cos he only paid a couple of hundread for, he doesnt mind and just buys another

when i start giving him buying advice about checking for service history, making sure its not been abused etc.. he doesnt care. All he wants to know is how much tax and test its got lol.

Well it's proven fact that if a car has an MOT it is perfectly fine!

:p

Because it's just not me mate, I am rough & so is my dog, I don't own anything that is decent apart from my Tower & that is made up of 2nd hand parts. Every room in my house has 2nd hand junk & car parts laying about, Tools, Old crap everywhere it's how I live. I don't worry about my carpets or my motor or my clothes I just live.
In my Twentys I was on the gravy train & went for all that new motor & designer clothes lark but these days it's just not me.
Being completly honest if I used your car for one single day you'd never want it back, It would stink of smoke be covered in ash have dog prints all over it & dog hairs as well, Frank might even have eaten a head rest if you're lucky as well. :D

+1

That way you'll be able to afford something nice rather than blowing £500 a time on old bangers which fall apart after being abused. Otherwise you will be destined to drive crap for the rest of your life.

The SAAB stood me in 150 quid. :p

You missed the bit where I rang my mate who is the Mechanic that put the clutch in it 2 weeks ago & told me what he thinks of the motor then. :p

Each to their own, agreed, get a big old volvo or something will be happy to take that kind of abuse.

Infact, a W124 Wagon would be ideal. They are bombproof.

computer tower ?

i have to use this term at work all the time. If i ask them what make the computer is, they tell me whats on the monitor

All pish..

Thanks for your input, that was my opinion on having driven both models as well. I know 0-60 is not the be all end all but is a factor when someone is asking for a "fast" car or looking at evos and scoobys as alternatives with 0-60s of less than 6sec. Hence why I suggested the VTS a faster version of the VTR more fun in the twisty and can be had just as cheap. And I didnt say the pedal thing would be a continuous issue I said untill you get used to it. Again an opinion. But hey thanks for your insult anyway.

This is meant in the nicest possible way but the image of an ex con gypsy comes to mind. :)

Just enjoy it while it lasts! For that sort of money it's not worth losing any sleep over whether it was the perfect vehicle or not.

If it's **** sell on and move on, though from the sounds of it, apart from the repairs it seems at least half decent.

All pish.

0-60 is not the be-all and end-all with these cars, cornering speed is very high, and a decent amount of poke when rolling helps them to be very fun little B-road bashers. Gilly will confirm that it wasn't possible to pull away from me in a Clio 172 when we were pressing on very hard indeed.

As for the pedal issue, this is only an issue if you have zero co-ordination of your feet. I have size 12 feet, and mainly wore Vans when I drove my saxo, so huge, wide shoes, no problems at all.

Infact the only issue for some people is the fact that the seat/wheel/pedals are not in line.

too true.

Feeling a bit more grounded today & here to give Special Thanks to Paradigm, You gave me the same advice I give out myself but unless somebody else says it you don't listen so Thanks Mate.
I'm going to look at a totally original Mk2 MR2 this morning, I've always like them & this does seem original & unmolested. Still may go for the Saxo but if I do I will kick the price, It was Superb fun to rash about.

Mate came round this morning with his recovery truck & we went & fetched my dead Saab, I started it to get it on my drive & **** me you should have heard it  + :D Imagine 3 full snap on toolboxes in a washing machine on a 1400rpm spin cycle & you will be close. :D Jim says is it ****** Malc ? I just looked at him & we burst out laughing. :p
