Yeah. Later builds are set to expire on 02/03/2010 (not sure if that's US or UK format?). The very new builds (>7070) are said to be legit up until the middle of 2010, as will the RC.![]()
How does this work? As my install of 7068 is saying i have a certain number of days left to activate. Should I let it activate?
Thank you and yes, I have oneYeah just use your beta key (you do have one?) and it'll activate and be valid until the set date next year. Later builds/RC will be valid for even longer.
MC, re: MSN/WLM. When the app is closed, right click any shortcut to it (start menu, taskbar, or desktop etc) and go to Properties > Compatibility. Set it to run as compatible with Vista and hit Apply/OK. Voila. It will minimise to the systray and behave exactly the same way it did in Vista.![]()
Contrary to what most people seem to be experiencing ie snappy performance in Windows 7, my system just gradually became more and more sluggish over the few days i was using it. General performance ie opening apps, opening up drives in 'My Computer', entering control panel, pretty much everything slowed right down and also music was crackling.
I tried disabling themes, disabling visual effects, turning off indexing and various other tricks but for some reason the system remained ridiculously slow.
It got to the point where i had to switch back to XP which was thankfully on a dual boot.
Perhaps W7 installed a driver which your system didn't agree with? My copy is running like the wind in terms of speed, plus it's an upgrade as well and from reading this thread some people have issues when upgrading instead of doing a clean install.
7077 is now leaked (x86 only for the moment).
my sleep button isn't working. The PC will turn "off" and the power back "on" straight away without it being woken. Is that a bug?
I have the same
Are you sending the computer to Standby? As I often had an issue with my old PC on XP and the Vista betas where the network card was set to wake the computer from standby, the PC would go to sleep, but then as soon as anything hit the network card (which was within a second) it would wake the machine again. Check device manager.
