What clothes are cool?

I buy my jeans from very random places, i've never spent more than £15 on jeans, i don't get why you would, they usually have holes after a few months from drunken abuse (falling over and whatever).

A lot of my clothes come from house of fraiser, ben sherman, billabong and thats about it, next, bhs and primark do okay clothes.

I'm not particularly fashionable in the sense than i'm not one of these ****s with the tight pink top and cardigan on, nor would i want to be they usually have 1 wkd and vomit all over the place anyway, Ponces.
I dress pretty much rock and roll casual with a bit of dirty smart in there.

Don't go by brands, just go by what looks good, i've got some clothes i've bought from oxfam for a few quid which are better than ones i've paid a fair amount for. Go round the shops, try some stuff on, bring a woman if you aint much good at it.

omg's i get my tshirts from primark! i dont leave the house without something on top of a tshirt anyway though so no one sees them.

Clothes inspired by safari (both the shape and the print) and sportswear.
Light weight denim
Chelsea boots
Bold red, navy and yellow
Fitted dinner jackets
Trilby hat

I would just go around the high street and avoid places which plaster labels over their products (Bench for example, Cult is ok apart from seeing 'superdry' over a lot of their clothes).
H+M and Topman are usually my favourite shops on the high street, along with going to vintage and independent shops. I like Zara's designs as they are usually smart casual which seems to fit what you're after, however do try on everything from there as they give me the impression that spanish people are short from the waist up with overlong arms.

I saw some straw hat in the old man's section (lol) in M&S the other day. I will be buying one, I promise you that. :p

I'd avoid primark as their material is too thick, and their t shirts are usually a bad fit.

Thats what'll happen when you have little indian kids sewing it all together ;)

Since this is a bit of a clothes thread I have a question about Allsaints. Why do the clothes come ready crinkled? And why does the shop look like a basement?

99% of my clothes are Alpinestars, Oakley, Fox Billabong & Quicksilver i dont own anything else.

this includes everything from boxers to socks :)

Fedoras are so much cooler. Not worn by "fashionable" idiots neither...
I agree, though technically I believe a trilby is a /type/ of Fedora.
I've been looking for one for aaaages and the only one I can find that matches my specifications is £200... which is daft for a hat.

To MikeHunt79, daz and kai, cheers for the ideas fellas! I'll do some googling and see if I can find some local stores.

I'll clarify by saying I'm sick to damned death of the generic burtons, river island, zara et all and was looking for shop/brand ideas that are a little different. Brands I've not heard of I can google for stockists or shops and locations really would be a geat help! So any more ideas are very welcome. If you can list some nice shops near to those locations in my OP you would be true legends.

I don't need help choosing my style, or guidance on buying clothes. Just some input from others on brands and shops I may not have heard of :)

Cheers,
Ant

PS> The OCUK 'shun him!' mob never fails to dissapoint. Thanks guys, had a giggle. As per usual, a slightly misjudged turn of phrase had the hounds baying. What I meant was, 'clothes you like that I may not have heard of' but I didn't think the title was catchy. Frankly, peoples' opinions on my clothes means less to me than the input of those who enter a thread solely to make a derisive comment with the purpose of inflating their own wilted sense of self-worth.

And as for plebs like this:

If you pay £30 for a t-shirt, you're a tool.

It's relative. I could never invisage spending £100,000 on a car. But then, it's because it's not a feasible/worthwhile expenditure for me. I do however respect the choice of inviduals that do, rather than calling them a tool. But cheers for popping in and enrichening my life with an insight that is not only poetic, but coloured with a touch of what could well be genius. I did, however, state that it would be a maximum if I particularly liked the t-shirt. I didn't ask for budgeting advice.

It's all about the fit as a few people have mentioned. No matter how cool you might think a design is, if the clothes don't fit properly you won't look good.

You can't buy cool, your it or your not. Sure, you can spend way too much on a pair of pants and a top but it wont make you cool to people who are cool.

T-shirt - £12 tops, that's only for special tops. Normally 3 for £10
Shirt - same
Jeans - £20
boxaz - 3 pairs - £5

To be cool all you have to do is wear clothes that when you go out, you wont see anyone else wearing them.
