A Mugging On a canal boat. The Physchololololology in the location at the rear of it.

I would interveen most definatly.

Having gone througha conflict management course and working in a night club mainly frequented by squaddies then i would, none of them in the video actually look a threat, ecspecially not the lil kid in the white hoodie!

Id give a good kicking if i got hit twice in the face! TWICE

Yesterday night a guy and a girl got the **** beaten out of em by two 16yr old with wooden sticks, the guy came into work with a proper battered face, the girl is too scared to even leave the house for a fag! Now if i was being hit with a stick i would have that stick of them in seconds

Personally I would help.

I've been mugged at a busy bus stop and no one helped. It's a really crap thing to not just be mugged, but to have people stand and watch while it happens and not even bother to help.

It only takes one or two to help and then others seem more confident to help as well. Of course sometimes it's better to phone the police if you are badly outnumbered / spot a weapon.
 
The only thing anyone could have done would be try to diffuse the situation and split the fight up. A couple of biggish guys probably could have done that if they positioned themselves between the victim and the aggressors, but only of they were calm and non-confrontational. In such a confined space trying to fight with them could easily have resulted in getting stabbed and might easily make the situation a lot worse.

Yup, it was easy to spot who was going to get mugged. I think I would have moved to the side of the bus. You would have your back covered then. I say that now like, hindsight is a beautiful thing.

I most likely wouldn't do anything myself, especially if it happened where I live. If I was with a friend I'd prob. intervene, although it depends on the type of people.
 
This is the same pack mentality that causes a lot of aircraft crash "deaths" when people are stunned by what's happened and sit waiting on instructions or wait on someone to do something.

I can understand why people don't intervene, but there are limits and that was a prolonged attack, you can bet if there was a pensioner on that bus they'd have helped.. or at least tried to.
 
Was there not a tv program on not long ago about this sort of thing? Pretty interesting stuff...

Kinda sad really how people can just ignore crys for help :(

I find it funny when people say OHH look at that, even the girl is trying to help.

Well guys don't usually beat on girls and pensioners, so if your either one, you have more chance of not getting socked in the mouth twice than a regular guy does.
 
I don't know about the Paris public transport system, but if you get mugged in Hounslow with witnesses nearby, they will intervene.

The guy seemed a bit unaware. Maybe it's just me because I've been mugged but as soon as you see people standing near you or gathering I tend to get myself ready for a fight. Or atleast into a position where I can see everything that is going on.

I've had people look at me and strart to walk towards me when I have my mobile phone or ipod out. I wrap it up and put it in my jeans pocket and stare them in the face. It's happened a couple of times and as soon as it's hard to grab and run they turn and go off. It's a sad situation when I feel I have to do things like that but I've not been attacked/in a fight in a long time because of it.
 
beeing 6ft6 and growing up in a pretty rough area i reckon i would have had a go.

i have huge leg range so could easily boot one of them down to the floor in a confined space such as a bus without them beeing able to stop it, hopefully that would be enough for someone else to join in but even if it werent i reckon i could easily take another down and the others would probably flee.

they only seem to be kids though so i would probably have had a good chance of overpowering them, if it were proper rough looking blokes 4vs1 no way am i going to hospital for someone elses wallet.

i probably wouldn't do anything, i'd run away like a little girl and i know most of you would too. lol at 99% of people on here saying they'd take them all on!

i'll accept a few on here really would, but not nearly as many as have said..

The mugging you can easily let slide but if you saw an innoncent guy getting pummeled way over the top for just a wallet mugging, your moral compass will start to point.

It's difficult to see exactly what happened in the lead up to it...

The guy gets groped by the dude that comes up from the back of the bus. He then steps away. The guy then moves over and gets really close to the little guy with the white hood, I assume he says something and then all hell breaks loose :confused:
