Even though the OP has said they've already tried this, I shall still second it.
Nothing like going out on the course on a warm and sunny afternoon, very relaxing indeed (until your tee shot manages to find the thickest part of forest for yards around!).
Have you considered shooting? Either target or pest control/hunting?
If your interested check out your local gun club, we shooters are a friendly lot!
Please don't confuse us with the knuckle dragging chavs that give us genuine shooters a bad name!
I started wood turning a few months ago and it is great, i love it and it's so rewarding, you start of with a block of wood and turn it into a goblet or vase as i do. It can be quite difficult but it's everything thing in life?
I've started cycling to work and am finding tinkering with the bike pretty addictive. Also, when you find a bike that fits you, and is fit for purpose - it's a revelation!
My new bike (still a little hybriddy but basically a road bike with a flat handlebar) is such an easy roller compared to my last few that a 35 mile ride to Bath and back is almost childsplay
Otherwise I ALWAYS recommend learning to dance, in whatever style takes your fancy (though of course I think Lindy Hop / Swing Dance as the best!) - it's social, takes up slow evenings, keeps you fit, and generally makes you look good
I used to play Airsoft quite a bit. After being an avid fps fan I absolutely loved it. And a great way to stay in shape. Only problem was I spent literally thousands on kit.
Pick up a musical instrument but goddamnit learn proper posture! I gave myself a trapped nerve somewhere in my right arm (doctors still ain't worked out where it is a year down the line) form bad posture, so make sure you do. Getting lessons is a good idea, I didn't bother but i have some bad habbits because of it.
