T-mobile G1 – The first of the Google Android Phones. A Review

Anyone getting better battery life out of these?

I heard of a "re-calibration" technique which was basically running the battery down to fully dead (phone wont turn on) and charging it to full, repeat x6.

Otherwise waiting on the HTC Magic to see if that can deliver a better life time. :)
 
RC9 on it currently, not happy that the msn functionality seems to be crippled atm one of the main reasons I wanted this and was assured I could use msn, any good free messaging apps?

You can grab any programs you need for Market on the phone. You rarely see APK's to download because everything is on the Market :) Theres a few MSN clients, I havent really tested many.

Sorry if ive missed it but ..

Has anyone tried to Overclock app? Can change the cpu frequency between 122Mhz / 248 Mhz / 384Mhz / 528Mhz.

Now the battery life on these things are poor, we all know that but hiking it up to 528Mhz is just silly, the phone is extremely quick.

Im using 5.0G with appstosd firmware.
 
mine should be here Wednesday need to get it unlocked as soon as I get it, mate had his new black one yesterday.. had a quick play looks wicked!
 
problem with my G! screen!

hi guys

i noticed a very slight dent on the underneath screen (second layer) 2 days ago but it got worse. it's very noticeable now. i'm not happy with it.

anyone else got same problem? poor design?











 
Yes, but the one your on about is RELIABLE with many people using it reporting no problems as far as I know.

Ive used them twice and can vouch for that. Second time, I goofed up and they were still helpfull.

i need to flash my g1 back to t mobile stock firmware before the exchange tomorrow, the firmwware was rc9 when i first got it, where can i get it?

Ah ok well I paid £1.99 off the bay for this PDF document that explains how to get the code from T-Mobile by simply sending a letter off to them, not the quickest route really
