New boat

I do, and not at all! Winter, you have your 139 other residents to work/drink with, and in the summer, you have another 150 and a constant stream of visitor's and their daughters to... entertain.

And as if by magic a boat appeared!!

Enjoy it, I'm more of a sails man myself, don't own my own boat but the petrol head in me says I need to try something with a little more bhp /speed!!!

Nice boat, what speeds are you getting from your evinrude.

When i was into offshore waterski racing we would constantly get around 90.

But you would have to go that fast to be West country champions wouldn't you.

Got to expensive at 20 or so gallons per race.

Oh by the way we had a mercury engine.

Thanks all - really enjoyed doing it, got a cracking t-shirt suntan from being out in the field quite a bit!

Most time consuming bit was the painting - had to masking tape off the coloured bits, sand down the white nearly back to gelcoat, then

1x layer of undercoat
Sand down with 80 grit
1x layer of top coat
Sand down with 180 grit
1x Layer of top coat
Sand down with 640 grit

then mask off the white bits, and do it all again on the coloured bits!

Hardest bit by far was the windscreen - had to buy the alumnimium channeling, the rubber beading, the sheet of perpsex - and then cut it all, make stainless steel brackets (which are such a nightmare to drill!). Lots of angles in the windscreen, creating each bit wasn't too hard, putting it together was. But it's solid as a rock now.

About to go and put the finishing touches on her - wire in a bilge pump dash switch, re-attach the throttle box, and she'll be having her maiden voyage about 1pm :D
