Duke Nukem Forever, not long left now? oh? *dies*

I'm not looking forward to it that much. Its something i'll most likely buy on release though, if not a month or two later.

cant wait but I always wonder..how the hell have they got funding to carry on the project for so long :confused:
George and the other main guys @ 3D Realms made a LOT of money on Duke Nukem 3D as they even published it in some markets as well. Think they made well over £50m as they also got a lot of money for licencing their Build engine back in the day hence why they are not in a rush to get this out and want to do it right so they self fund its not an issue. I think the game will be a massive letdown they should have just finished the Unreal1 engine version back in 1998 its been too long now most of their audience have long moved on to other games.

50 Millions not a lot when you think they've been through several different engines, changed the team around a lot basically just started over and over again.

The fact that it's not been out already suggests they can't get it how they want it probably too many people with ideas on how they see it rather than a collective whole. I don't think it will be any good in all honesty just another generic shooter with adult content and swearing that's if it ever sees the light of day.

A game I don't think I'd buy even if it appeared right in front of me now.

I think once you spend too long working on something, you really overanalyse it and it'll show.

Not really looking forward to it as I'm quite sure it'll be a dissapointment.

I think age wise I'm on the verge of people who can actually remember Duke, does anyone care anymore?

Duke was never great enough for the people aware of it to care after such a long time, and anyone younger wont care as it's not COD/halo etc.

This game can never be released.
They put it on such a pedestal that it will go one of 2 ways. The unlikely route, be amazing, worth the wait, and go down in history as a legendary game. However it will probably just spawn a few memes and become a joke, then in 20 years people will call gamestop and ask for it...

young families? it's been that long they have grankids :p

its going to be bad, very bad :(

Ever the optimist myself, however, I don't see it being a great title maybe a good one, though no more. Unfortunately it will have to be a classic to make up for the time etc taken.
I'll laugh if on release it turns out to need a patch straight away.
