Le Mans tickets - Where from?

All i saw last year however were supersoakers and water bombs aimed at people who seemed to be playing along going backwards and forwards down the 'strip.

This is not something that happened when I went to Le Mans and there was no 'strip' with people blasting cars up and down and people throwing stuff. It's become far more of a lads weekend to get smashed than an event to watch a motor race while consuming some beer and chilling out and for me (at 41 yo) it's unapealing. When I went as a lad in my late teens early 20's I stood out as a young guy. Today its more of the norm as continental travel (and the cars that support it) are easier to obtain and therfore its less special to me. Not saying people shouldn't go and enjoy it, but its not really my thing anymore and even though you can get away from all the nutty antics its still lost its appeal as there are no Group C cars to keep me interested anymore!

We will be in the speedchills camp. About 50 of us going this year  Should have a fair bit of exotica with us.

Do say hello, we are in SpeedChills, second year, having been lastyear I was most impressed, you wont be able to miss the Silver/Gulf coloured Fiesta ST arriving on Wednesday, taking my Dad.

I'm heading over from Dover to Calais on the Wed night, then driving down to LeMans on the thursday morning.
Staying at the dedicated Team Langoustine site...

Can't wait!

Looking at stickers for the car now, thats the next job.

I'm there all week and should have bikes and stuff so I'll probably try and find you.

To be honest what you have described is exactly why we go, i am not all that interested in the race itself, as you say its more just an excuse for a weekend away to get smashed and mess around with cars :)

I'll keep an eye out :) I'm not sure what our camp will look like this year as its gone a bit crazy

This was our motley crew last year, we were near the front of the camp, not sure if you recognise us (cant find any better group shots)?

Okie dokie, I cant say i do recognise any of you, although we did arrive very early on Friday lastyear and were camped right in front of the marquee's next to a Lotus 7, ill see if I can find a picture!. Arriving late wednesday afternoon this time so being some of the first there we will probably be near the back?. The Ferrari looks familiar though.
Anyhow enjoy!!

For 70 years plus its been an epic motor race with beer, good snap and a fare. Now it's a boys weekend for those who'd be in grease but with cars not birds. This is not what I seek at the age of 41 but I don't judge or elevate myself above those that do, I just thinks it's a shame it's moved that way.

TBH as Housey says, its upto those that go what they do with their 'weekend away' as he says I think most see it as a weekend away from the missus. I on the other hand must admit although it is that, I go for the racing the beer and good company, but the ontrack entertainment takes first spot on my agenda.

As you say, inevitable with easy travel and cheap reliable cars. Either that or maybe it was always like that and you are just getting old? :D

so it seems im away on holiday the same weekend as le mans so i cant go or watch it on tv, the place im staying has broadband for guests so is there anywhere on the net you can watch it? bit of a longshot i know but i dont really want to miss it :(
