Half-Life 2 FakeFactory Cinematic Mod V9.5 HD Mod (9GB!!) on Vista x64??

Well it's not my soundcard. I just tried the onboard sound and it's still doing it. The best way I can describe it, is when I move the mouse fast to look somewhere the whole screen sutters and my fps drop to 30 from 170. It doesn't happen if I don't move the mouse around to look - but that defeats the object of the game. I don't get this in any other game I play, and I've played more demanding games... I think it might be something to do with the USB port my mouse is using, but if it was it would happen in other games too. Hmm.

Sounds very much like a lack of VRAM to me, that's the exact type of stuttering you get when panning and with only 512meg it could be an issue.

Make sure you've got AA disabled for starters.

Does anyone know if there are more character models that you can download and if so where from.
Ive done a bit of searching on google but not really found much.

Have you considered paying for a newsgroup server? I get 230 days (over 7 months) retention

i never really thought if it because i thought all news servers were the same :p

The download already includes models for all civilians and other characters but you have to activate them?

Or are you simply looking for alternatives?

i just installed 2 things

Cinematic_Mod_V9_BASE and Cinematic_Mod_V9_HD

for some reason the characters look a lot better in other peoples pictures tho, will the 9.5 update sort this out for me?

Install v9 base, v9 HD then 9.51 update. THEN load the character modder/pimper programme that comes with it, and choose the improved models :)

9.51 fixes some of the existing upgraded models and adds more.
