Half-Life 2 FakeFactory Cinematic Mod V9.5 HD Mod (9GB!!) on Vista x64??

I have h2 + Ep1 +Ep2 installed
I have installed Cinematic Mod V9 BASE, hd addon, CM951UPDATE, ran the character pimper.

However if I try and launch any of the games from the fakefactory links, it says "steam isn't running, please start your steam client". - Steam is running, I can launch things np as usual. I'm a bit lost what to-do now.

More screenshots! It looks fantastic :D

I know this is probably a stupid question, but would I have any hope of running this on a 4850 512MB? :o

I'm already regretting not going for a GTX295/4870 :(

Tried this out, because of the comments i read.

Must say, very impressed, has tempted me to want to play through all of the campaigns again. Wasnt expecting it to run as smoothly as it does either! :)

Must have taken the developers ages.

Edit: slylittlefox, a 4850 is more than enough to run this, my setup runs it beautifully.

only 4 hour left downloading BASE

Hopefully the mod is better now than it was a few versions ago, I really can't stand the 'new' models for the NPC characters, so seeing that you can apparently choose between them is much better. Does this choice extend to all of the character they changed, including the civilians?

I'd like to see a version of this mod which is purely environmental changes.

i agree, i dont really want new models, or any gameplay changes, like damage etc. I just want the better looking levels really.

Can this be done? would i just need the base for this? is the HD thing just for the new models?

Does anyone have a EP1 or EP2 gift they don't want?

I'm really no expert mate, i just followed the instructions on here at the time, this was about 2 and a half years ago, and it was old then lol (i didnt overclock until i had the pc a year) plenty of people were getting higher clocks than that.

I'll help where i can tho, there is an overclocking thread in here somewhere, unless its gone because its years old.... i'll have a look...

This was the thread i used i think,

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17636047&highlight=gigabyte+overclocking+thread

its a bit mobo specific but you should get the idea, i used this, and a tutorial, but i have no idea where i found that.

I cant really remember how i did it now, it was a long time ago

i can give you my settings if you like, let me know if your still interested and i'll email you.

sorry for going off topic guys

If you could fire over your settings that would be much appreciated, and I'll take a gander at that thread thanks
