Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles *Possible Spoilers*

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=20811

According to BAG and Josh Friedman the season finale was wrote as just that, a season finale, not a series finale. He did try to tie up a lot of the questions from season 2 but he in no way wrote that as an ending, he said fans will be ****ed off if the show is cancelled but they would be ****ed off anyway.

We really need a season 3 to find out exactly what happened to Cameron. But its not looking very likely at the moment. The ratings were very poor, even the season finale. We were getting beat by wife swap :(. Fox moved the show to friday to die and succeeded. The only chance we could have is if Warner Bros shop the show around and find a new home, but that is also pretty unlikely. Such a shame as the show had a lot of potential. Fox ruined it by making Josh put Riley into the show and the crazy Sarah episodes IMO.

Also I don't think John belonged in the time line he went to at the end. I think he will maybe learn about who Cameron was before she became a Terminator, get Cameron back and possibly learn about reprogramming Terminators and time travel by John Henry. Then i think he would go back to before judgement day to join Sarah. Cameron is by far the fans favourite character and she will be back without a doubt. Josh said he would like to revisit the Allison character as he thought she was interesting, so i think we will see a few eps with Allison before Cam is back.

Yeah i'd read that article it was interesting but that was my opinion of the end of season 2 even after reading that.

I agree with you entirely and a lot of the above are pretty much the unanswered questions I was referring to. The SCC (thanks to the last few episodes) had become my favourite show so I really hope they can sort something out.

Yeah me too. Ive been sending off emails to Fox and WB and signing petitions etc in the hope it'll help. There is also a poll on e-online called save one show. Its apparently helped save shows in the past. The TSCC fans are currently power voting to secure TSCC victory lol. We are currently winning with 51% of the vote, i think Chuck is in second place.

Heres a poll we won in the name of TSCC lol. I think it went even higher than that in the end. I know this one doesn't mean anything as we cheated but it shows theres a lot of support online for TSCC. Well that and we couldn't let Miley Cyrus beat Summer Glau :D.

Interesting interview with one of the writers/producer from TSCC if anyone is interested. He doesn't give much away about the finale and season 3 unfortunately.

"One funny thing, though... apparently, Skynet in T4 processes coltan to create the endoskeleton alloy. I'm given to understand the producers thought this came from the other movies, but it's not true. Our show originated the use of coltan as an evolutionary step for Terminator design. Higher melting point, so you can't just toss Uncle Bob in the steel and expect him to evaporate. Take THAT, continuity mavens."

*snip* There is also a poll on e-online called save one show. *snip*

Link? Can't find it anywhere- the one link I do find doesn't seem to work.

Edit: Reading above interview^^^ now :)

Edit2: But of a disappointing read to be honest, he wasn't very forthcoming, even with seemingly innocuous questions, but maybe that's just me wanting too much. Found one useful piece of info though:

"Fox reveals whether The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been renewed for a third season on May 18, the day it announces its fall schedule."

At least we have a date to look forward to !

nope its closed john connor becomes leader of teh rebels , sends darth vader back in time to look after his mum and the films carry on from there.

As we've now discovered in subsequent posts, it is not closed as I thought.
There were huge gaps and unanswered questions.

Then again with films involving time travel there really is no end, unless you can stop skynet.

I assume at one point it'll be like the discovery of penicillin, a mistake or error that may or may not have been discovered for a long long time after (or ever).

Or an AI that doesn't want to kill all humans. (for story sakes and an end)

her answer was no on the submarine though i wonder what happened to her, they must have been freeing her from somewhere with the sub?

Not sure on that, the metal box was pretty much just handed straight over while being guarded by a bunch of T888's, but they didn't really give much information either way. I assume this was just to keep us all guessing about who's side she was really on and to be honest we still don't really know.

Is she some sort of advanced AI, thinking for itself.... a separatist from the machines?

i think it must be , probably boxed away because skynet couldnt control it?

its probably suposed to have its own motives, obviously different from the other machines it seemed like she would be happy to co-exist with humans and would rather judgement day didnt happen?

Pretty good podcast with Brian Austin Green for anyone interested. He says its 50/50 if the show will be back and its not over yet.

Didn't realise Dollhouse was up for the chop. Pretty much open ended show really, can go pretty much anywhere with the character type they have. Or does that count against it?

Doesn't matter - just vote Terminator OK !!!!!!!! ;)

A lot of people just don't like it and find it boring. Even hardcore Whedon fans are saying they're disappointed in it and its nothing like his other shows. I actually quite like it although i believe it peaked at episode 6 and has gone downhill since rather than building on that episode.

A lot of the DollHouse fans were saying that it was doing bad because it had TSCC as a lead in but its viewing figures have actually dropped since TSCC ended and Prison Break took over as the lead in lol. It had less than 3 million viewers last week.

Oh and latest poll update:

Chuck: 32%
Terminator: 31%

This was about an hour ago so we could well have a decent lead by now. If the comments are anything to go by i'd say TSCC has it in the bag.

That's my theory as well: she's trying to prevent the war by happening by making a Skynet which doesn't want to kill people. Previous events have suggested Skynet will always happen, so maybe it can happen without genocide.

Mmmm last episode shows Summer Glau's boobies...The best...

Gotta say, ive watched it and im pretty confused to wtf happened...

Can see what has happened but it would really be a major disappointment if it gets canceled since they clearly have far more of the story mapped out.

It seems studios are far too quick to can a series over the past 2 or 3 years. So much so that I'm become a bit apprehensive about watching new shows in case I get drawn in only for the thing to get the chop.

Yeah the problem is these reality shows cost peanuts to make and the general public love them. TSCC was raking in 3.5 million on friday and costs around $3 million an episode. Meanwhile on another network wifeswap was raking in 10 million and cost far less to make. Not sure how much but i doubt it would be anywhere near what TSCC cost to make. Fox is a business and needs to make money so i can see it from their point of view. Saying that a lot of the blame for the shows decline in viewers was down to Foxs bad management as per usual.

The show has a lot of untapped potential and given another season on a less restrictive network i think the show could possibly be one of the best shows out there. Fox interferes with the creative process too much and their strict censors are stopping the show from being all it can be IMO.

Ive heard that WB are quietly shopping the show around other networks as Fox are almost certainly not going to buy any further episodes from WB. I think with Salvation just around the corner, if its as good as it looks from the trailer that it could inject new life into the franchise and WB would be mad to give up on it now.

They just need to change the image of the show starting with the name, as i think having Sarah Connor in the title puts people off. Most people i talk to who like the show say that they didn't bother with it at first because they thought it was just cashing in on the Terminator name and that the new Sarah and John wouldn't be as good as the ones in the film etc. I too felt the same way and only really got into it because Summer Glau was in it. But after seeing the pilot i was hooked.

Anyway if anyone interested the results of the 'save one show' poll (so far)are as follows:

TSCC 50%

Chuck 26%

Just goes to show that there is a dedicated fan base out there, we were losing this yesterday after they reset the poll and now we have a comfortable lead. I hope Fox and WB pay attention. The poll closes wed afternoon US time so theres still time to get some votes in. But i think we pretty much have this one in the bag, just hope itll help the show.

Nice post Mark.

I remember reading something earlier this week in a TSCC article that mentioned X-Files was almost given the chop after its 2nd season due to its failure to bring in an audience, then suddenly during its 3rd season it just took off and the rest is history. TSCC needs a 3rd season if it bombs again, then fair enough, can it. But as you say, with Salvation just around the corner it might turn out to be a very wise decision to keeping it running.

I've got to be honest I'd never heard of Summer Glau before this show, I started watching it because I love the first 2 Terminator films, nothing more, Summer is a very attractive bonus and a bit of a hook. But they've got other great characters in the show with Ellison, Derek, Chromartie(sp?)/John Henry and John, the latter of which I think does a superb job.

I re-watched the pilot last night. It was interesting to see Summer playing the role of Cameron in a less machine like manner during that episode, she has a greater appeal to me that way (she smiles for one) and it looks like we would see more of that if there is indeed a 3rd series.
