According to BAG and Josh Friedman the season finale was wrote as just that, a season finale, not a series finale. He did try to tie up a lot of the questions from season 2 but he in no way wrote that as an ending, he said fans will be ****ed off if the show is cancelled but they would be ****ed off anyway.
We really need a season 3 to find out exactly what happened to Cameron. But its not looking very likely at the moment. The ratings were very poor, even the season finale. We were getting beat by wife swap. Fox moved the show to friday to die and succeeded. The only chance we could have is if Warner Bros shop the show around and find a new home, but that is also pretty unlikely. Such a shame as the show had a lot of potential. Fox ruined it by making Josh put Riley into the show and the crazy Sarah episodes IMO.
Also I don't think John belonged in the time line he went to at the end. I think he will maybe learn about who Cameron was before she became a Terminator, get Cameron back and possibly learn about reprogramming Terminators and time travel by John Henry. Then i think he would go back to before judgement day to join Sarah. Cameron is by far the fans favourite character and she will be back without a doubt. Josh said he would like to revisit the Allison character as he thought she was interesting, so i think we will see a few eps with Allison before Cam is back.
Yeah i'd read that article it was interesting but that was my opinion of the end of season 2 even after reading that.
I agree with you entirely and a lot of the above are pretty much the unanswered questions I was referring to. The SCC (thanks to the last few episodes) had become my favourite show so I really hope they can sort something out.
