I have a lot of mates that feel like that... I mean are in the Navy and having kids that dont understand that they do what they do not just for the money but to keep them and their loved ones safe...

but then again I worked with one guy that gave up the merchant navy as soon as his misses feel preggers, he said it was the right decision to make...

Seen that with my mum and dad......

I have two boys and will make sure I do every thing i can to stay with Gina and make sure my boys have a happy and normal up bringing......trust me....

My gf's best mate at school is getting married on Friday to some soldier in Aldershot. She is quite upset that she can't attend as she has to work. She's a teacher so taking time outside of school holiday is a no no before someone asks.

My question is: Is it cheaper to get married on a Friday rather than the weekend. If so isn't that a cheapskate thing to do and inconvenience many people who'd love to celebrate the happy occasion if it was held on a Saturday.

I got married on a Friday and it saved us about a grand on the venue. So no, I don't consider it to be a cheapskate thing to do! Everyone we wanted to attend was there, and I don't think asking them to take a day off was inconveniencing them.

To the OP - enjoy it and make the most of it!
 
Congratulations, only 4 months now until I get married with my other half of 13 years.

Don't get completely pished as I did on my wedding day because you won't be able to remember all those juicy insults you shout at her family as you leave the venue :P
