As tomorrow is a bank holiday, there will be lots of car boots being held around the country. Im gonna take a trip to one in Taplow which is usually huge.

Whats the best car boot bargain that you've picked up?

Any tips on things to look out for with a good resale value?

The very early now cd's make good money. As do most ds games.

Can't name just one, but I've gotten quite a few rare albums from car-boots. What I do is go around pretty late on when the sellers are beginning to pack up and offer to take a full box of albums off their hands for a £10. 99% of them could be absolute ****, but every know and then you fall on a couple of gems.

Oh, and I did pick up a pair of Moorcroft vases for £5 once, sold them on for £350. :D

never bought anything from a car boot but had a super find at the Tip last week. I saw a pc case in the electronics dump with a wifi antenna poking out the back. Got the guy to list out the case, turned out there was a full pc in it 3.06gh P4 motherboard ram gfx card and wifi card made me smile with a big grin

About three years back I got a boxed and mint condition Amiga 1200 for two quid! Couldn't believe it when the woman said "I dunno, two pounds?" Nearly kissed her! :p

I've NEVER been to a car boot sale before

Am i really missing much? :p

Depends on your demographic really.

If your a teenager, or well off business man then probably not.

But if your like me, working class and kids, then you could well be.

We picked up some clothes today for my little boy. 50p an item. All were in top condition and decent names like Next etc.

Actually, ignore that first bit, why not go along and see for yourself?

The best car boot bargain I never picked up was a pair of Rega Xel floorstanding speakers. The seller assured me that they worked fine, but the cabinets were a bit bashed and the grille fabric was torn off. The drive units looked spot on though.

They cost £1100 in 1994, and the seller only wanted £20, which was the exact amount I had in my wallet. Unfortunately they are not the most attractive speakers in the world, and that day my wife decided that she'd like to come the boot fair with me. I was just about to buy them when she told me that there's no way we're having them in our house. :(

GAH WOMEN!!

I even promised I'd make them look nice and more subtle on the eye using my DIY skillz. She still said no.

They are very unattractive though!

Not this weekend but;

Bought a massive box of records for £5, and checking up on prices one was worth £150, and others in between £20 and £50 :D
