My BFG RMA experiance

If you shoot me an email with your information, I can look that up for you :)

Hey mate I had already sent an email before i seen this and a got a reply from CS.

Was the account created before or after 2/14/08? If it was before this date a
new account will need to be created. Unfortunately when our systems were
updated all previous accounts were lost.

If my account was lost how does the warranty stand? I have a BFG watercooled 8800gtx

I recently got a new card, the 260 OCX Maxcore, and it's threads like these, highlighting this sort of service, that made me choose BFG. No problems with the card, but I feel much better knowing that this is the level of service BFG provide.

Aye I have also had brilliant service from BFG - my 8800GTS was giving up the ghost and within a couple of weeks I had a brand spanking 8800GTS Ultra in my pooter - very happy with their service and their products.

Jeff has emailed me saying he has found an original PhysX demo disk and is sending me it tomorrow, how's that for service? :)

That's awesome! This is why I chose BFG for my GTX280 and paid a £50 price premium for their warranty and extras.

Unfortunately, yesterday my BFG 8800GTS 320MB (which was expensive when I bought it!) seems to have started to die, it bluescreened the PC and locked it up, then refused to even post with it in, and then did post but the BIOS was covered with artifacts. I haven't tested all the hardware, but looks a lot like the GFX.

Will be using their RMA service soon probably in this case, though doubt i'll get back an 8800GTS 320, probably something newer now. Hopefully it'll be as good a performer, I believe they should replace with at least equal performance.

You'll prolly get a 9600GT/9800GT

Yeah I would think so, though the 9600GT does not quite match up in terms of shaders and general performance bar the extra memory, so would hope for a 9800GT, though it depends on what game you're measuring as to the performance difference. Shame you can't get a GTS now.

Well another quaiity piece of service from BFG, these guys especially Jeff really are second to none! Just been emailed from Jeff, he's posted two demo disks for the Ageia PPU (incase one doesn't work), and he's registered the card for me as the code didn't seem to work when I did it.

That extra level of service goes a long way with me and need to save up a few quid to upgrade from this 4850 to a BFG branded card (have baby on the way, so being tight!)

:)

Congrats on the baby my friend, I fear you might not have much time to play once it arrives though!

That is great to hear, i'm glad I got another BFG card, hopefully Jeff can help sort out my possibly faulty GTS when I get a chance to test it properly, that's if BFG isn't fine with it anyway.

^^ I'll second that, my little one just turned 8 months :) Not much time for gaming now a days, but he's so much fun I really don't mind it. Congrats Mr. Paul, you're going to love it!

Alexhull24, when you are ready for the RMA let me know and I'll arrange it for you. I'm sure we can get you something as good, if not better.

Looks like i might need to go about sending my 8800GTX back, it seems poorly, how would one go about that?

Make sure the card is registered on http://www.bfgtech.com

Use [email protected] to get some support via email, and don't forget Jeff is here at [email protected], he has helped many users of this forum.

Not sure if registration is 100% essential, but probably helps. Jeff may be able to speed up the process for you if it's not registered yet.

Returns go to an address in wales I think, so just make sure you have good packaging for the card so it's not damaged in transit.

What are the symptoms?

I'm VERY impressed with the support offered here by Jeff, I can add myself to the list of next time BFG customers it seems!

Support like this is lacking in so many of the mainstream component manufacturers imo.

Well done to BFG & Jeff.
