You can only get ITV HD with the new EPG. Only some Thomson boxes have it, but will roll out for Pace, Samsung and Amstrad soon.
 
Apologies if it's been covered, but anyone any idea roughly how long after receiving your new guide pack in the post that the EPG actually appears on the box? :) Letter arrived today, so I'm hoping the guide isn't far off :D.
 
Does anyone else occasionaly have problems with the channel status bit popping up continuously on some channels? I can't get rid of it and it's really annoying!
 
Mine appeared overnight (009 box), the picture on HD channels certainly doesn't seem quite as sharp now! Also as has been pointed out the volume is a lot quieter and you can't change it.

I guess we'll get used to it though.
 
Few people are saying all the Thomsons are now updated. Anyone know what make is next? Or rather what box was released after the Thomsons?

I've got the new EPG, Thomoson box: 4E300C

I have added ITV HD, I hope they show tonight's game on it
 
There's lots of reports going around other forums (one from a sky employee) that, after getting the new EPG, the picture quality is worse on both SD and HD channels. Generally the comments are that the image is softer and that contrast levels have changed.

Anyone here noticed anything like that?
 
All I can say is... mine's perfect :D. No change in picture or sound quality. Responsiveness fine, and even arguably slightly improved. Unfortunately still the occasional loss of signal and freezing, but I do have a Thomson box, and I can live with it.

I guess I'm lucky, but all in no complaints and only praise from me :).
 
Just to update, all Thomson owners can now "force update" the box to the new HD EPG by holding backup and powering the box on from the wall.

(Some owners may have missed the update stream)

Hopefully the Pace owners get their updates this week..
