Test Examiners

This is interesting because at the end he said to me, "I'm sure you'll pass next time" which at the time sounded like a normal thing to say.... or am I reading too much into it?

We need a poll, "how many tries did it take to pass your test?"

If a large number of people get it the second time, I wouldn't be surprised. I did, as did a lot of people I know.

And a lot of people pass first time. I always find the paranoia around the driving test hilarious. It's always a conspiracy when you fail ;).

Yup :p

To be fair, I did mess up on my first test, but the examiner was a right **** as well. The second guy was dead friendly, really put me at ease. I don't think it is a conspiracy, but it wouldn't surprise me to find most people passed on their second go. Although the motors forum might not be a good representative as there's obviously more motoring enthusiasts here - I've seen a few people post mentioning they took their test and passed on their 17th birthday, so I'd expect more people here to have passed with fewer tests than the general majority.
