I plan use it for photography so I guess dell be it? But people say screen on Nec is better
well, extended gamut doesnt necessarily make it better for your use. i'd recommend a read of this:
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/monitors/display/samsung-sm-xl24-xl30_2.html#sect0
many people get extended gamut screens and then moan about oversaturated reds etc, so worth reading ahead to understand how gamut will impact you
Just a little bit of info (which you may or may not know already!), I am not trying to sway your decision by stating it, but more to make sure you don't choose one monitor based upon incorrect facts about the other.
The original revision of the 2408, the A00 did have quite bad input lag. The following revision, the A01 (not sure if there has since been an A02, haven't kept track) reduced this input lag considerably so that it is no longer a problem at all (it is by no means the best monitor input lag wise, but I suspect that isn't what you are looking for anyway).
This may well be a moot point but I thought it would be worth mentioning as it all too often arises when the 2408 is being discussed.
Edit: And yes I do have a 2408, would thoroughly recommend it, but I wouldn't have the faintest idea about whether it is preferrable to the NEC for your needs.
Thank you for this information, so what revision are Overclockers selling then just incase I order one.
I am not sure, the product description doesn't say. You can try sending them a message via the WebNote system on their website and asking, but I can't guarantee they would be able to tell you.
I would hope that their stock is of the latest revision as people have been receiving A01 monitors since before Christmas (admittedly from different e-tailers but you could assume OcUK stock would be the same), but it is definitely best to try asking them.
Simon since you got this monitor what is it like viewing at a angle does the colour alter?
What's the Dell like for gaming?
I am looking for a new 24" panel and viewing angles and gaming are the main priorities.
Great. See Baddass's review on it's timing. I don;t notice any ghosting in games.
