Arsene Wenger

Sorry but, name me a player who was awful at 20 and world class at 30, you can't. You can name a player who was great in a small team at 20, who moved to a huge team and was scoring 20 goals a season at 30 but I can't name a single player who i'd regard as world class at 30 who was anything less than world class at 20.

Ian Wright.

I'm not looking forward to the time where Wenger, or whoever is in charge at the time, unleashes the money that's been built up over years of little spending and 4th place finishes.

The only thing good to come of this thread is the fact that Nobz has been suspended and DM is one step closer to my ignore list.

Think Arsenal should force him to buy 3 or 4 big names to make the team competitive at the very top of the league and CL. Like seeing a strong bullish Arsenal playing football, for me there isn't much better when they are like that but haven't been since letting some big names go off to retire.

Arshavin will be a massive player for them next season, 3 or 4 more players like that and they'll easily be winning silverware again, back where they belong.

Why does everyone in the game always say Strikers are better at 28-30, keepers 30+ etc etc etc.

I think with keepers its experience gained helps them with mistakes (David James ruins that theory tho :D )

With strikers, I think the at 27ish you reach you physical peak, so I guess that plays some part into it maybe. Just a guess ;)

I think it's clear that Wenger has a long term game-plan. Sure, we may not win silver for a few years as he works on concrete foundations, but eventually this long-term strategy will put Arsenal on par with the other clubs for purchasing power. Indeed, he may even have to pay less should Arsenal's prestige help hold sway.

The man has done great things for the club and he is just as much a part of it as past names such as Seaman and Bergkamp. I'm behind the man 100% until things truly do become detrimental which evidently is not the case at the moment. The only sad thing about the club so far is the fact that Wenger doesn't have the CL to his name and it will be good day when that - which I do hope and believe will happen under Wenger providing he still has faith in the club - eventually happens.

We had a bad end to a mediocre season, it happens. Wenger is smart enough to learn from it and address what needs to be done. Only if things get progressively worse for say the next five years and Wenger becomes too stubborn to address them should fans be calling for his head. Current fans/supporters are only calling for his head through pain - just as you may say something horrible to a spouse whilst arguing - but they don't necessarily mean it.

The young team now really could be a power-house squad in five years which will be an absolutely fantastic base to launch Arsenal into long-term success. I predict big things from the likes of Fabregas, Gibbs, Nasri, and Bendtner.

I personally think Nasri is going to be very, very, very good after a few years here. Don't really want to go into detail but I think he has it all.

Nasri didn't impress me at all at the start of the season, but his movement and ability on the ball has started to shine through as the season has gone on. Will be interesting to see what he is capable of next season.

Aye, I know he was at fault slightly for Anelka's goal, but I reckon a more defensive position might be his calling. Tactically, he's pretty good. Though comparing him to Song or Denilson means anybody can play there lol

Nasri?

Why not just play him in his proper position and buy a decent DM?
