ebay *again*

If the seller cuts and runs and emties the paypal account, then your stuffed, but since they have issued a refund I have no idea. Ask ebay if you should send it back now or later?

I buy plenty of ebay, as has been said, because you cannot get a lot of it anywhere else.

You are protected as a buyer on paypal so that is not true. It happened to me many times and I have received my money back.

I wouldn't really send it back either. They never asked me to.

I thought everyone knew not to buy memory cards from ebay. Even the shaving razors there are fakes.

Tell me about it! I bought some shaving razors from there about 2 months ago and they were even more blunt than the genuine ones i was throwing out!

I bought an micro SD card from ebay ages ago - looks genuine enough, came in all of the proper packaging etc, but how can i tell if it's a fake?

Due to Buyers Protection this is not the case.
Paypal/EBay will initially take the hit on your requested refund and then attempt to get the money back from the seller using whatever means neccessary.

Not too bad considering everybody seems to have a bad word to say about the company.

The bad word is cos they dont protect sellers in the same way. Like if you sold a item thats fine and the buyer says it has not arrived for instant and ask for money back but did receive it then paypal/ebay will take the word of the buyer over the word of the seller. Tho no way to prove item was sent ok unless u use special delivery etc.

Don't worry I was burned with a fake 8GB memory stick, filed a claim with Paypal and the seller replied with something like "I assure you it is not fake but I have refunded your money and await your good idea for how to resolve this".

Needless to say I never got back to him. It's perfectly fine to buy from eBay, but selling on there has become something of a hassle as of late.

I learned that one once - bought some blades for my gilette fusion and they were all completely dull. Looked really legit though, all the packaging was identical, they were all marked with numbers etc

I heard a rumour a while back that legit stores outside of eBay were unknowingly selling fakes. Pity really, it's why I only trust here and around 3 other places now to get them.

Edit- just tested my old PNY 8GB stick (for £20 months ago, should really have set alarm bells ringing) and it averages and tops out at 19.8mb/s. Hmm..

I have been stuffed by them once though. Lost out on roughly £45. I got £35 back and they basically said tough and closed the claim.

Perhaps its different now.
And I stand corrected!
