Had a very constructive chat with myself while sleeping last night?

This is really odd! I get something similar although not when I sleep at night but normally in "day-dreams" in the morning... I do a lot of travelling often starting at stupid o'clock in the morning.. If I have a particularly important meeting or event... i'll often start to run through it in my head.. going over the individuals involved what their motivations are what outcomes they are looking for etc.. so that I can plan how I want to approach the meeting and try and ensure the outcome most desirable :)

Anyway this will often lead to me "day-dreaming" the meeting where I can very realistically dream through certain scenario's in my head.. almost like its a dvd or something.. so if for instance I try an approach and it doesn't work then I can go back and try something different and see how that works etc..

Its not like I am totally asleep I am semi-conscious of my surroundings and the day dreams themselves can be quite surreal especially if its somewhere new or meeting people I haven't meet in person before i.e. places and people will be representations of how I imagine them..

The day dreams are often quite accurate in terms of the real peoples responses I have always imagined as your subconscious is a lot better at picking up the small little things about people that you overlook on a day to day basis consciously. Has always proved relatively useful as I can completely remember the day dream and even recall whatever part I want to hours after the dream itself

It's called visualisation and is a stepping stone to lucid dreaming. Intersting you say that these dreams are quite accurate because visualised intention is supose to able to effect the outcome of a situation.

What you describe is pretty much what happens when I take a nap in the morning. I find it much easier to try and lucid this way than laying there just relaxing. Although the problem with this method is it's very easy to just fall back to sleep into a normal dream, you have to keep making yourself aware you want to lucid but not be aware of your body.

One morning when I was napping the postman rang the bell and after I got the parcel from him I realised I had just been day dreaming about laying on an operation table with this weird lights above me. But I remember 'seeing' the lights in great detail, not like visualizing them in my head, because everyone can do that instantly, but actually seeing them (yes I realise they weren't actually real). The power of the subconscious is awesome :)

I can control some of my dreams, I thought everyone could?

Unfortunately, I've also died in my dreams a couple of times, so bang goes the theory that if you die in your dreams you die in real life, unless of course I'm a zombie :p *cue green face*

The dreams aren't always correct can be very inactuate! but I would guesstimate maybe 60-70% of the time there are significant similarities between what I have planned in my day-dream and the actual outcome. I would never go into a meeting and rely on what I had "day-dreamed"!!

I find it much more use as a tool to clear up my own thoughts and ideas on a plan or outcome.. the sort of feeling you have after going to bed having had a massive problem or very bad day and waking up in the morning and it being "all-right"

That's quite true for me to! once I think I have it "sorted" I'll often drift off to sleep

The brain also screws around with you by false awakenings also. You might try to lucid, then wake up, open your eyes etc. then think to yourself you just failed and then just drift back off to sleep. When in fact you probably woke up in a lucid dream.

Happened to me the other morning. I realised this time though and waved my arms around in front of me, I couldn't see them but felt them moving (yes my eyes were open :P) I always find my head is stuck to my pillow when I'm lucid though, 'tis really strange. I also tried talking for the first time, more like a shout because I was frustrated with my head not being able to move and I recall it sounding echoey and robotic, cool stuff.

One thing I never ever recommend you guys do, is to fall asleep within a dream...

I was dreaming, and then woke up, but everything felt different. Cue myself trying to wake up 'while awake'. At the time, it was quite scary, because I felt 'trapped' and unable to return to the real world.

I really enjoy reading up about lucid dreaming though, some really interesting concepts out there.

I'm sure you're talking about Astral Projection there.

Lucid dreaming is basically all within your own head, where Astral Projection you leave your physical body and enter the 'Astral Plane'.

I've woke up few years back and I still remember it now, I was out in space with the stars it was all very strange, I woke up feeling strange as if everything has its place was a really good feeling. Then again I did smoke too much.

The most weird thing i did in a LD was to find a mirror, then walk into it.

For some reason, when i found a mirror (inside some random house) i was a little scared to walk infront of it incase my reflection was different.

It was 100% accurate, so i stepped into the mirror and it was a very weird feeling i can tell you

Try it!

My sisters never stop talking, they talk all the time, away, asleep, on their own, my god they never stop, its just a little annoying!

I like those ones where you're flying, just before you relaise you shouldn't actually be flying. But yeah, I get dreams like that now and then. Lucid dreams.

I had 2 absolute crackers this morning. The first started and I was in America somewhere following this truck up some winding road to this little town, I was scared as I was completely lost, there was churches everywhere, I was going to go inside one for help but decided to go one, I found this Hugh shopping mall and went inside. This place was like something out of a Disney movie, like one of those tacky Arab hotels with gold everywhere, there was thousands of people shopping. I met this fat woman that was showing me round, there was strange escalators everywhere and everyone was different some where like conveyor belts you lye on, some where normal and some had paddles you sit on, at the top on each one there was a woman singing and drawing on herself with a felt pen. That lasted about 1 hour and didn't know it was a dream.

I woke up realised it was a dream so I was back to sleep and had another. In this one I was walking round my home town with an old friend I haven't seen in years, we where just looking in shop windows and just walking round, I noticed this stunning girl, she was like a movie star straight out of Hollywood, kind of like Marilyn Monroe, golden hair with these amazing light blue eyes with white speckles in, she was in her forties but she was stunning. I knew I was dreaming so I went over and grabbed her arse, she looked at me and said 'wait over there' so I went and waited, she went over to this security guard and said something, she then came over to me and said 'follow me' and she ran off, I followed her down some alley way presumably for sex :) When I went in the alleyway she had a suit of armour on, I said 'what you doing?' she said 'its more fun this way' anyway I got the armour off but she was caked in dry mud from the armour, I tried to kiss her but she tasted like mud when I told her she got angry and it greyed out and I woke up.

I felt really down this morning as I never got any.

These 2 where rather strange for me as I have never seen so many different people in a dream before, I must have seen 1000's of different faces, very strange.
