Gurren Lagann is great. Wait until you get near the end, it gets so unbelievably crazy. Probably the most fun series I have ever watched.

Started Kanon yesterday. Won the coin toss against Clannad. :p

tokyo 2040
I thought that was the better one out of the ones I've seen but I suppose everyone has different tastes.

Yeah Godannar isnt very good from what little i have seen. The attraction was that the anime art looked very nice and hear theres some nice bouncing er moving along hehe so its all terrible then is it?
I stopped after 2 episodes :o

Crazy just can't do TTGL justice but its a damn good ride from start to finish :D

the mechs just keep getting bigger....and bigger...and bigger...and bigger...

i think it holds the record for biggest robot in any form of visual media...ever LOL.

Shuffle - This was some excellent harem. It started ok but got really good after a few eps. Loved this to bits. :)

The Third, the girl with the blue eye. - This was just plain awesomeness. Its post apocalyptic. Its got great animation. Its got a great flow to the show, the characters were well developed tho some could have been better fleshed out like the daughter of the killed legend mechanic (cant remember exact details there as it was awhile ago for me watching it). But overall defo one of my fav anime's of all time for me.

I've watched a lot of harem anime and I have to admit I don't think very much of Shuffle. It had a lot of potential but it didn't follow through very well. I tend to find that the best series in this genre are those where you can empathise with the characters but with Shuffle I just didn't care by half way through (and was already down the path of hoping the character with mental issues would just stop whining already).

The Third is a great series though, (had some excellent booklets in the DVD cases on the singles release).

I wanted to like Gurren Lagann ... but it just got too stupid for me ... particularly due to what Demoniser says above. Mecha which get more powerful over the series is ok, Vandread for example, but this was just silly.

In my opinion Clannad > Kanon ... but Kanon is very good too ... just a bit emotionally heavy going at times ...

Finished rewatching Otoboku this evening (which is silly) and watched #6 of K-ON! which was funny (pantsu!). Hopefully I'll watch some more of Fafner tomorrow and maybe start Jinki Extend.

I think cybertron and unicron (the planets in transformers) might give them a run for their money :o

I'll admit gurren lagann was a bit 'what the ...' near the end but when you think about it the whole premise was a little weird to begin with (kamina using simons xxxx in his battle with viral - no normal person would do that!) and I was thinking this is rubbish for a couple of episodes but it did get better as it went on luckily. I think I just had to realise this is going to be daft after having watched the fairly serious mecha approach with gundam, rahxephon and fafner :o

It's almost summer time .... and looking at this there appears to be quite a bit I may be interested in

If I list:
Cobra:Rokunin no Yushi
Element Hunters
Needless
Canaan
Umineko no naku kora ni
Hetalia Axis Powers 2
Ukkari Penelope

... those are the ones I'm not interested in .... the rest look interesting (so the above is a shorter list to type).

(main link to site here if above link breaks)

the Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann was several times larger than those

SPOILERS

The TTGL and Anti-Spiral mech/person/thing were throwing galaxies at one another iirc in the final episode

Just working my way through the first half of Clannad, its nice to go back to the light hearted part lol. Fuko is just the ultimate comedy relief and Sunoharas beatings are genius. :D

Watched Jinki:Extend today .... it was ok, cute characters and lots of action but I did find the plot a bit confusing in the second quarter or so (not helped by working at the same time).

Rewatching Genshiken this evening (I see that Genshiken 2 vol 1 has been resolicited for August although now without an Artbox :()

Not really sure what I'll be watching next at the moment as I'm awaiting a couple of packages from TRSI. As I rewatched Clannad series 1 the other week so I may rewatch After Story now I have it all in 16:9 (although I do have a bit of back log of current things to catch up on)

What about tuaro majitsu no index, I actually thought it turned out ok as a series :D
If you want a mecha type thing take a look at the remake of daiking the legend of daiku maryu as it might keep you entertained for a few days :D

Toaro Majitsu No Index .... yep it is pretty good ... but unfortunately I watched that last month :)

Hmmm ... haven't heard of the other one though ... will have to take a look.

grrr you're almost as bad as me at finding something new to watch :o

I'm currently watching tales of the abyss, had a dull patch around episode 3-6 but its picking up quite nicely again now.

I really need something non-mecha, well non-actiony .... action wise I'm watching Desert Punk which is ok so far but I need something more relaxing for upstairs before bed viewing.

More of a slice-of-life, romantic comedy, harem, drama sort of thing ... think Clannad/Genshiken/Please Teacher/Maria-sama sort of level of excitement ...

Trouble is I've seen a lot in this sort of area while I don't mind rewatching things I'm sure there's somethings I've missed ...

ok what about the please teacher side story - please twins, it has some of the same cast but has a different story (I watched this first)
Other options which I can think of are
utawarerumono, more of a story rather than a set thing
Nagasarete Airantou - stuck on island harem story
innocent venus - haven't seen it all but seems like it might fit your requirements
Glass Fleet - The Legend of the Wind of the Universe aka Garasu no Kantai - think space pirates meets old fashioned england - actually better than it sounds (also streaming on funimation site)
seto no hanyome - mermaid saves boys life, mermaid must marry or kill boy, family objections etc etc etc
Nogizaka Harukia no Himitsu - girl has secret which boy finds out about become friends while protecting secret etc

Yup gotta agree with these 2 both enjoyable easy relaxed Animé

It would be nice if the second of the two were licensed, after all it did generate enough interest that a second series is supposedly in production.

It doesn't look like I'll be able to obtain the first series listed though.

For Romance stuff, the ones that top my head from recently to a few years ago are;

Bokura Ga Ita,
Nodame Cantabile,
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien OVA ~Next Season~,
Lovely Complex,
Itazura na Kiss,
KimiKiss ~Pure Rouge~,
Skip Beat!,
White Album,
Hatsukoi Limited.

Really loving Hatsukoi Limited at the moment and it is certainly a better adaption than Ichigo 100% was, thought that one was enjoyable too.
