And so the first one bites the dust

If the roof had gone then yes id be wary of putting it back on the road, but that isnt what folks in the trade would call heavy damage, ive fixed worse tbh, well watched me old man do it whilst i made the tea and cleaned tools:p

I would love the seats, presuming they are the blue / black cloth ones and not the leather. I need a proper smashed one to get broken for bits lol

It's surprising how little visible damage is needed for a write-off (I couldn't believe my wife's Lupo was written off years ago for what seemed like such an innocuous piece of damage - one of the front wheels was at a very funny angle, but it had done a load of damage to the engine and chassis).

yes, well then replace the side panel. I doubt it's bent much if at all, if it is then jig it. It's a brand new 25k car, might cost 5k to repair but the insurer will sign off on it right away.

Thats not a 5k repair I did less damage to the passanger side of a Fiesta with no suspension/chassis damage and the bill was 7k. The airbag set alone will be around 3k it will also need a new dash which is 1k. Even the rear brakes wheel/tyre will be around 1k. So thats 5k before evening looking at the bodywork, under carriage, suspension and the labour charge. I would estimate at least a 18-20k repair bill if done at a insurance bodyshop still repairable though however I wouldn't want it back with that much suspension damage. I would expect an insurance write off then bought and repaired as cat C/D by a bodyshop.

Why do people think these are some sort of supercar and then proceed to drive them as such. Is it still chavs that buy Fords?? I'm unsure these days.

Oh, and for the record, that car is almost definately a write off.

What an odd statement

Fords are for chavs?? Don't see many apart from some in old shape fiestas. Most chavs i know love their old skool saxo power :p No respectable chav drives a Focus or Mondeo lol.

i would say write off, i really doubt a insurance company will risk what looks like a distorted car being sorted in their name.

insures are very twitchy about distorted main pillars and chassis now the past few we have seen they have wrote off at the first sign of damage there regardless of repair cost : value of vehicle.

Hm chav and £26000 motor just doesnt seem to add up for me ?????

Is Chav + Corsa + 40k easier to swallow then? Look at some of the "tuning" mags for barry boy chavmobiles where they have financed themselves up to get it trimmed in leather with super go faster paint and some git has charged them enough to buy a house for the pleasure.

As for the car, well, another one off the road means less people in the 3rd lane for me to consider :p

RS Ford gets wrecked by a driver that ran out of talent.

Not for nothing do the RS examples of the range get rare as time goes on.

Breakers yards will be filling almost as fast as the showrooms! :D
