Question: how did the European Red Fox get introduced to Australia? Oh that's right a group of numbskulls decided they needed something to hunt and crocodiles tend to fight back. I know, let's introduce the fox we used to hunt back in Blighty. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that plan

Another question: now that the Red Fox is a genuine pest in Oz and a threat to native Australian species, how are the Australian authorities trying to control the fox population? By dressing up in red coats and blowing funny trumpets? Err no, by baits and by spotlighting which is a far more effective method of pest control.

Let's not pretend that fox hunting is about anything other than cruelty to animals for fun. If the Chief Constables aren't going to enforce the fox hunting ban, are they also not going to enforce the ban on dog fighting?

One gets to live with a mutilated throat. The other dies very quickly. One is an unnatural process; the other is perfectly natural.

A fox will usually be well and truly dead by the time it's torn apart. And if it's not... well, that's nature's way.
