new dog

Just to show off our dog again lol, found some older pictures, when our older lab was still alive. Even though completely unrelated she was like a mother to the younger one.

This thread makes me miss our family having a dog :D

We used to have an old english sheep dog when i was younger, was always very friendly with three young kids in the house.

something like that

All of those are perfectly fine with children. Treat them and train them right.

Just to offset some earlier posts, the dog that mauled my face and left scars was a labrador :)

Great Danes are awesome, but as an owner you have to admit they're a lot more work than other breeds, health wise.

Its not just that, the main dane I knew was my friends, in his early life he was fine, but when he got older and started to lose his sight he ran at his owner and mis judged where she was and broke her hip............

Now I'm not saying that's a problem but somethign to consider, also if you get a GD call it scooby :D

with Danes you have to be careful with the amount of excercise they get when they're growing. They're prone to heart problems and back/hip problems, mostly due to their sheer size, and the speed at which they grow. They're not a begginners dog, as you know. This isn't an issue for the OP, but it is another case of the thing that looks the coolest, is the hardest to maintain. So many danes get rehomed because people rush in to it :(

My aunt's Doberman ran in to me once, knocked me rigth off my feet. Bloody thing was an idiot. It wasnt blind, just stupid.

No it is a Cows knuckle bone (including the shin) I will generally feed him cut marrow bones as treats but these came from my BARF supplier and didn't want to waste them.

The shar pei eating hers (collor as she just has another entropian)

what about a huskey? (alaskan malamute)

Or are they not friendly around children? they're the only dogs I'd ever own if I was to own one.

One for the family album.

Unfortunatly we got Holly from a family who couldn't look after her, so far she has had blood make up done to check for SHS, SFS also a nother entropian which is due to her eye lids growing inwards and since all these she has gained 4kg, which is good.
