Pick which one you think is correct...

1) Because they need the speed (fps)
2) Because it's the lastest/best new tech
5) Because they want something faster/better then everyone else/friends has
7) Because they bored and want something to spend there money on

Bought a 1900x1200 monitor, which my 9600 would have strugled with so i got a 4870.

With the current batch of games(sys req), dont see any reason to update.
