Bored of my MBP....

To be honest, I have thought about getting an external monitor and using it that way.

Will give it some thought, having just paid to go to Rome the £500 difference between this & an iMac is a tad too much at the moment!

Apple LED Cinema Displays look like sex. I go all funny inside when i see one right up till the point where I remember you can only use mini DisplayPort.

Kind of like seeing a perfect woman who then smiles revealing she has no teeth...

lol, you REALLY need to get out more :D

The lack of DVI on the LED Cinema Display is flat-out retarded. Talk about gimping a product.

I agree but people said similar things when Apple left out the floppy disk drive on the first iMac.

Still DVI is far more useful than a floppy disk drive!

To be honest, I have thought about getting an external monitor and using it that way.

And at what point did you not realize this gives you the best of both worlds? From what I can see you are looking for reasons to convince yourself spending all the unnecessary money on changing computers and so far people in this thread have not agreed with your idea!

lol, you REALLY need to get out more :D

Have you seen the Apple LED Cinema Display in person rather than on a computer screen? That thing is gorgeous and then you find out that you can't use it even if you happen to own Apple kit! I'd have one connected to my PC and MacBook in a flash but I cannot!

Oh and yes I need to get out more! :D

I just can't believe Apple have restricted the potential market for the LED cinema display by not producing a DVI to displayport adapter for those who want to use an older computer with them! It just seems like madness.

£1500 seems to be the price for the 3.06GHz & 4850
where is it that much? isn't it more like £1840 for the top model with the 4850?

I just ordered the 2.93GHz version with the 4850 (and the 640GB HDD) and it cost £1460 with the HE discount, so are you sure you can get the top one for that?

Right well how about this.....

DELL 23" S2409W - Connected to my MBP / PS3

Gaming can be done on PS3, as well as Blu-Ray watching with the MBP for all my OSX goodness.
